Sally: That was, er, um, well, pretty weak. I am sure you have better in you! I can see where you are coming from. Actually, I'm not sure you can. To be frank, a number of your recent articles are either thinly veiled attempts at baiting, or just plain p

It is pretty cathartic, being able to dump something here. Glad it works for you as well.
Dharma: I am sorry for your loss, and my thoughts and prayers will be with you at this difficult time.
I understand what you're saying but I think there have been times that JU was much pissier No doubt about that Locamama. But I had noticed that a number of those who, in the past, all "had each other's backs" are now trying to stab each other there. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quot
I don't base my self-worth on what other JUsers think of me, so if nothing else, you can always count on me to say exactly what I think, whether others agree with me or not. Frankly, I appreciate that. One always knows where they stand with you LW, because you won't beat around the bush. Like I said in the article, and open honest
It is interesting. In the past, when my time here was very regular, I had a pretty good finger on the pulse of JU. I knew who really got along with who, those who hated each other, those who loved to argue but were congenial at the end of the day, etc. In short, I was pretty well informed when it came to the net soap operas that sprung up from time to time. Lately, though, that is not really the case. My diminished time spent here keeps me from readi
I thought that was Hu Flung Dung, LW. They must be related.
By it, I meant the job at the garden center.
Dude! You need to tell me the story behind this. I thought you really loved it? Must hear more.
Cookies into milk. Pop-tarts into milk. That is about it for me.
I was spanked very infrequently. It was only for serious incidents and so was quite effective. My father did it with an open hand, my mom used a wooden spoon, but really, both were very light and never more than one swat. I have used it a time or two, very infrequently. I only use it when our children are completely out of control, do so with an open hand, one spank with no arm involved, just bending at the wrist. It gets their attention t
Well, to be honest, most people I know who use computers on a pretty regular basis are still quite incompetent when it comes to their use. It is a numbers thing. Look at the number of folks using Google to search for stuff and I think it is pretty safe to assume that most of them could be called incompetent.
The above post is from Capt. Underpants' older brother, who did get married young (barely 22) to a girl who was younger than him. And it has continued to be a wonderful marraige that, as of today, has thrived for 8 years.
but she's even YOUNGER than him! I guess that's Mormons for you, as a general rule . . . Meh, I think that is an irresponsible misrepresentation of things. People like to say that, like to stereotype the religion that way. And while the religion plays a role, to just say Mormons are "like that" is o
I really like HydraIRC. Free, great, it is my client of choice.
I think noone is saying Gadgets arent what the average person would prefer. I think what most of us would like to see is just keep them separated. I have desktopX - I cant tweak a Gadget..So dont dangle it in my face in widget gallery. Exactly my thoughts as well.
I have listened. Just going to listen some more before I tell you what I think.
Your point of view is kind of skewed...then again so, is mine. Of course it is skewed. And that was the whole point of the article: For those of use who are used to these programs, and have used them a bit more, gadgets are useless and inferior to their widget companions. And I find it unfortunate that the widget gallery is getting
Many thanks for the kind birthday wishes.
At least separate them - as they are not widgets. They are Gadgets..... I agree. I don't download them anymore either. It just seems to be ripping away so much of what makes DesktopX great.
Zubaz: I think the point you bring up, that gadgets ought to be targeted to those who want simplicity, is a valid one. And it actually adds to my frustration. Since that is really the focus, I just don't think they belong here at Wincustomize, in the widget section. Or at least, there ought to be a widget version available here, and a gadget version available at DesktopGadgets.com.
I dig gadgets. I really do. Well, okay, I lie. As someone who has DesktopX installed, I think objects are vastly inferior to widgets. I see the plus of objects not needing DX installed, blah, blah, blah. But for those of us who have DesktopX already, gadgets just really, really suck. Oh, and as an aside, it would appear I feel like whining today. Why do I think gadgets are inferior to
It is that time of year again. You know, that one day where some people try to make you celebrate that one thing you did all those years ago. That being born thing. Not that I really remember doing anything that day worth celebrating, least of all for 30 freaking years. But oh well. The kids like it, so I play along for their sake. The rumor is they are pretty excited about my cake. Usually I will pick what I want (and it usually isn't cake-I am much more of a pie person), but t
Yogurt covered raisins beat the chocolate covered ones for me. Hands down. I like chocolate covered as well, but something about the yogurt flavor. Yum.
ok ok, yeesh, give a guy a break I will gladly give the guy a break when he chooses to demonstrate a modicum of common sense.
