One thing I truly fear is that Galciv II with be as politicly simplistic as Galactic Civ I. I want to be able to see what people's political beliefs are on my planets, I want to be able to have alien subjects in my realm, with a special capacity for mischief, including the possibility of seperatists resurecting dead civilizations. I want to have political parties, with their own leaders and cabinets. I want the pie-chart polls to be slight

How about a more subtle kind of cultural influence that ties in with user-friendly's suggestions. Rather than the dull planetery takeover we have at current, how about we allow planets alignment (and favored political systems) to shift in response to planetery pressure. Say Planet A in the example above is a human world of a "good" human civilization under cultural pressure from the Drengin. Taking inspiration from the Drengin, the world buys slaves and puts them to work in the fields

I want to see a more subtle form of cultural influence, an influence that shifts alignment in civs that are influenced and causes a morale loss dependant on the difference of civ morality (a drengin world in the middle of a sea of Altarian) is going to be greatly at odds with it's masters back in Drenginia as the Altarian culture sinks in, but a good Torian world won't suffer as much and a pure good civilization not at all. Hence shifting morality is a way (but a somewhat surrender-monkey) of

Great idea, basing leadership on Victoria. Perhaps you could have alien and mercenery leaders in your fleets also. The possibilities are limitless. For political leaders, I'd like a system like in Hearts of Iron. You have a list of positions in the government and you assign random leaders to positions of power and can also be kicked out also. The party head however cannot be changed or replaced until his death at which point you (the player) can 'create' an entirely new party head

Thought of some Galactic movements for Galciv 2 for :( planets to defect too and to get up to general dodgyness. I've also added a quote that would give you a picture of what they're like. Good Fundementalists Alignment- Pure Good Entrance criteria- Evil civ planet Traits= Will not trade with evil civs Quote= "After many years living under the yoke of tyrants and opressers we have realised the truth, that the world is carved up in too shades, black and white, light

Rather than actually gobble up people through culture in the physical sense how about you can enfore a "culturally assimilated" state in a civ if you have enough influence over it's homeworld. Culturally assimilated civs give all their cultural influence to you as they have been indoctrinated into their way of life. Even more cool how about the culturally assimilated civs leaders have different appearance to represent their state. So a culturally assimilated Torian leader wears a Terran alli

What the game really needs is each planet to have a race and a more advanced political system for galciv in general (including leaders and planetery governers) and we need a better planetery invasion system. Invasions A planetery invasion would usually last more than one month. In a planetery invasion both sides use the entire population as they do at current. This doesn't mean that the population of the whole planet and the attacking transports actually fight but that they all co

How about a wider array of civilian craft to go with the galactic resourses and ship design. Basic ship componants for a tech level do not take recourses but you upgraded versions that are better do. Ie basic phaser is free but crystal phaser needs resourses to build. Mining starbases send automated resourse ships to all planets in the galaxy belonging to that civilization automaticly. But other civilizations can send freighters to buy resourses off a starbase like they can make trad

I'm more in favor of admirals bieng promoted as required but gaining experiance from battles. So an experianced admiral could be transferred to a different (probably higher tech ship). However all admirals have a limited lifespan (and can die in battle) so you'll need to keep promoting new ones. I'd think the game should have a auto-promote and auto-assign feuture to take into account the fact it could be a pain in very large fleet. Also admirals should suffer experiance penalties if transfe

I think there should be moral decisions based around your actual actions as well as ongoing events and more event chains. Say for instance your troops have recently captured the Torian planet of Lasititus II from the evil Drengin empire and find they have all but enslaved the torian population running a brutal regime of blood and terror enforced by brutal "overseers". However this regime greatly improves the production and research ability of the planet. Do you..... good>Release the sl
