I just did another test on "Normal". The AI starts out with abilities that look suspicious to say the least.
Could you show us your facts, and how you have collected them? We all would like to see proof of what you advance, and how you have been able to see AI stats rights form the start. We also must known if mods are installed, and what tech have the AI when you are able to get their stats

About AI knowing where yellow stars are, it should be considered as if the AI know stellar cartography. And the path to stellar cartography is : communication theory -> universal translator -> nano electronics -> stellar cartography So you may be able (in important universe) to get know where yellow stars are without having finished your colonisation wave.
Auto-survey is still ignoring anomalies.
Which ones and when? From my experience with Galciv 1.21a[b].002, each turn, the survey ships decides of a target and moves. If anomalies are detected nearer than the targetted one, it is only the next turn that they can be targetted. At least, it is how I have seen my auto survey ship moving.

Here some thoughs about how to improve the current metaverse ladder to take in account inactive players. I know that the current metaverse won't be improved. One problem with the current metaverse is linked to the fact that it relies on submission for moves in the ladder. So if someone became inactive and no longer submit, he will stay at the same place, unless a metaverse wide recalc take place. But since there is lot of players, it needs to be correctly narrowed, in order to make the
How is this not considered AI cheating!?
I think we must clearly discuss what is cheating and what isn't: - Stardock has stated numerous times that the AI play the same game like you. This means that they must choose at the beginning a political party (war party give 50% hp) and 10 picks - How can you adjust difficulty if you can't give advantages/disadvantage to your adversary? Personnally, I don't consider that an AI that have only starting advantages is che
The reason I loaded the updtaed version was because my screensaver causes the game to crash with GalCiv 1.0.
If you have passed from Galciv 1.0 to Galciv 1.21a, the savegame are clearly incompatible. Have you tried to delete all data linked with savegames? Maybe the problem is linked with the fact that savegame in the old format still exists in ypur savegame directory.
3)When I killed the above route, the popup for trade route discontinued read "...trade route 42949667295..."
I have the same thing with Galciv 1.21a. On the positive side auto survey seems to work better: When the survey ships finds new anomalies (I have the eyes of universe) when going to a distant one, it decides to go for the one it has just revealed.
Seems like there are 2 seperate events going on in this thread.
Yes, the diplomatic blunder (also know as "die Humans") that is the event described in the beginning of the thread, and the precursor frigates, where a civ gain 100 frigates without any specific reason. The diplomatic blunder can be avoided with spying.
However there are other ones that give a player (or AI) a lot of ships (despite the money put in espionnage) but nowhere near what I had before, or near what you had this time.
Is it against the human player or between AIs?
I was playing my last game that got me 11,960 points and most of the races were set to begginer.... and this event came up very VERY often, where "On a tour of PlanetIII a former worker shot ____ Of The Altarian Republic, whats worse is that private sources have provided arms"
If it came very often, then you aren't spying the AIs: spying allows to avoid diplomatic blunders. I have never experienced it. But I always put money in spying.
This post should really go in the strategy forum, but that forum is dead
Nope, the strategy forum isn't dead, it is just asleep: it is just waiting for someone to post something. Especially newbie posts since Galciv veteran have no longer strategy questions to posts.
Peace Phoenix once posted a scale showing the maximum poulation allowable by planet quality (PQ) on an unimproved planet to keep the morale at 100% (PP can you link it?).
I haven't posted

there've been times when I've gotten dragged into a war over a random special event, which just seems wrong. I guess you aren't spending much money on espionnage, since it will help to prevent diplomatic blunder. BTW, have you checked the Galactic Civilizations forums and especially the strategic fo
I think that we took that out for Altarian Prophecy and Gal Civ 1.21
Strange, I am pretty certain to be able to see this information with the latest version of base Galciv. And I don't understand why this gave too much tactical information: after all, at advanced spying level, we are supposed to know everything from the AI :
With cash spent on espionage reaching well into the Trillions, our knowledge of their workings exceeds even that of head of
i was thinking also of just offering a pq 13 or so planet that got upgraded, that's near or within (even better) my borders, and then get it to rebel
I have done it successfully sometimes: giving a star that will flip back. But be sure that the final (not base, but after some improvements and with eventual AI PQ bonus) PQ is greater or equal to 15 if you don't want to see the AI destroying it. [Message Edited]

SB culture modules have a direct influence on the sectr of the starbase ans the 8 adjacent sectors. After that, there is a more diffuse influence on the rest of the galaxy, which is based on your total influence.
Ghengis would you guys mind if i copy that table to the embassy H&S section?
Well, since it is here in a thread (http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?id=136169&BID=GF&page=1#191119 post #3) about metaverse aldmiralty, you could do that Mace. [Message Edited]
