As a strategic choice you decide to build a small fleet composed of one gigantic planet killer ship, and many smaller screening and point defense ships to protect it. Now, you attack a planet with it. Do your screening craft actually screen? do they protect? do they understand the tactical implications of your strategic choice? no. so you have to either command them

This stratergy works best when you use the "Dont Ask" racial advantage (+80 reproduction rate), Are you sure? Because if there is a cap on the population growth per turn (like 200 millions), have 80% bonus reproduction rate won't help you when a specific size for the population is reached. It was that way in GC 1.

Ships fire individually UNLESS combined in a fleet. In that case, their attack value is combined against a SINGLE target (each round of course). Well, it should be understood the following way: On the galactic map, the ships engage combat separately UNLESS combined in a fleet. In that case, during the combat, they concentrate their fire on a si

Actually, most of you are WRONG well, people with the rank of diplomat or amabassor are gamma testers. So they should know how the battle works. But reading the various posts, one must be careful about where the combat takes place: - if you are on the galactic map, ships and fleet

Well, I guess it is a resolution problem: The cutscene are surely set at specific resolution, which is surely lower than the resolution at which you will play the game. So if the movie needs to be stretched, meaning anti-aliasing may be useful

there is a tutorial in glaciv2 the devs have said it and one of the screen shots that were shown looked like something you would c in a tutorial As gamma tester, I definitely confirm that they are some tutorials. They consist in videos explaining how to handle the various screens

While getting that answer, I'm still curious about why constructors are never listed on the diplomacy screen. Perharps because the AI fears that it will be used against them for building influence starbases. Or in other words, it can too easily be abused

My most annoying part is that the space battles are incontrollable... the attack the nearest ship and done is done.... instead of you clicking on 2 ship to attack one thus inceasing your chanse for winning Are you speaking in the battle combat viewer or when attacking a stack of ship on the map?

when you only can strike one ship per turn so it will be very intelligent to destroy the most dangerous ship at first Not quite exact. Your ships don't fire at the same time, but one after the other. So if a ship has been killed by a previous shot, your ships will fire at a new target

I see a big one. In Stars! I've been many times in situation I could not match my opponents fleet, but I could try to destroy his bombers or freighters carrying invasion troops. OFC those kamikazi ships of mine all died, but if they did their job, my opponent lost the ability to harm my planets, and had to bring new bombers in the theatre. And that always takes some time,

How does that work? When I observe an alien battle, I can see what weapons are being used and what defenses are in place but I have never seen anything that gives me a number on the weapons, armor or hit points with no espionage. Have you tried to click on an AI ship?
