Well, currently, nothing have changed with the latest gama build. But that doesn't mean that it will change the day of the release of GC II. there will be a whole month between between the code-freeze and the relese of the game. So Stradock will have some time to put some improvements in a bonus pack that should be available the day of the release, as it was the case with GC1 I think.
Peace Phoenix
So you mena the way it is coded now is that the human player finishes a trun, then presses the turn buttom and then all the AI things to do are calculated? not quite: the AIs do some calculation during your turn I think. But the movements of ships, the ships battle and the invasions are processed race by race. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="
However, I still fail to see why it should be radically redisigned just for MP purposes. Well, I guess the problem isn't in the strategy involved but in processing human player turn. There is no simultaneaous turn in GC II. So with the current design, a MP game will looks like to a game in a hot seat mode.
I think he did not mean the in-game time but rather having played 100 tunrs is the game at an end because everything is conquered (i.e. victory conditions are met) or at the beginning or are you still in the thick of things. Anyway, you can count on playing more than 100 turns on a game of GC1 or GC 2. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" alig
Now please check, where is a GalCiv game in 100 turns. Well, in GC1, a turn was a month. So 100 turns will corresponds to 8 years. So it will lead to year 2186. In GC2, a turn is a week. So 100 turns will corresponds to 2 years.
the demo for GC1 seems a rather bad starting point, Well, it is based on version 1.03 I think. The current version of GCI is 1.22 I think. And lots of tweak have been made in the gameplay. More, you don't have all ships (some techs give nothing) in the demo. That may limits greatly the way battle are conducted. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width=
Will there be a downloadable demo for GalCiv2 like there was for GalCiv1? I think so, but only after the release at the end of february I think.
Well, I believe that tutorials are planned. I don't how they will be and how depth they are: movies explaining how to interact with the UI, scenarii to help you at basic functionnalities ...
Well, that won't be a problem at high level of difficulties since they won't give you much money.
Rule of the thumb: if you have access to the beta, you will have access to the full game.
So I've been attacking shipping lanes, taking out my neighboring enemy's economy. But he just keeps sending new freighters to replace the ones I shot down. If I understand correctly, you are killing the freighters that are along a trade route. Its behavior is automated (ie works the same for you): if the freighter is killed, another one start the rou
Well, the range of a ship is linked with the number of life support modules you have added to it. Try to play with the ship designer
I guess you always have to pay shipping cost.
BTW, are the latest versions of the multimedia pack supposed to work correctly with 0.8x version of the game?
I fear you have tried to download a gamma version. Only people with diplomat access (ore greater) have access to the gamma. Have you tried to check oof "show prerelease version"? That should give you the latest non-gamma version. But I am not sure if it will works for the multimedia pack
What is the version of your patch?
Well, you should remove the planets that are linked with major race systems and minor race homeworlds: Minor generally starts on PQ 15 planets, like some major races. Using unowned planet list would do the trick.
Or do you have to make a couple of farms on every planet? Correct.
Actually, Star Pilot, I believe the other races now start on the same level as the humans in terms of knowledge of the other stars/planets. Here is the relavent quote from Brad's dev journal (The AI in GalCiv II, Part 1): Well, not all: the Torians have an incredible sensor bonus (+20 in the latest beta I have played) that allows them to clear the F
Sorry only play humans Try Thalan
THEY DO NOTHING. Why are they even in the game?? Perharps, to prevent any race with stellar cartography to know where habitables planets are (stellar cartography allow planets to appear on the minimap)
Are you able to build starbases anywhere in space/on the map??? Yes, but you need to respect a certain distance with other starbases not build on ressources.
Game: approx 93 MB Multimedia pack: approx 300 MB
Nope, I don't see the word council or the 0.90(b), are you sure you didn't missplaced my name by accident? Well, you are veteran, not diplomat or ambassador
Well, if you are just at citizen level, you shouldn't see gamma download (0.9x). So it is safer for you to stay with .8 beta release.
