I just uninstalled my last version 3.xx to upgrade to the most current 3.09 and now I'am unable to install after download. I get a "installation failed" pop up message referring to some missing file "global time..." I'd like to get back at least a working version of DesktopX. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yup, I had the same problem -- I simply added Y! music engine to the exclusion list for Windowblinds. It works fine for now. I'm sure a revision is coming that will allow WB to skin the generic interface.

May have found my problem (thanks to some advice above ) I booted in safe mode and ran msconfig. I then toggled off unnecessary items in start up tab. I booted again to discover I had 1/3 the running processes as before but CPU was still taxing at 100%. So, by elimination I disabled the remaining few processes that weren't critical. My system (p4 2.8 w/512 ram running WinXP sp2) began running slower as the day went on. At first I thought it was the newest version of WinFX as I noted my menu shadows & taskbar shadows no longer worked. But now I'm not so sure it's not something more ... When I run task manager (it takes 25 sec to show) I note that my CPU is running 100% - I shut down (via kill switch) and booted up into Safe mode. Everything works better but not right. Page
I turned off the service but what exactly does it do? I can't tell any difference. Will it affect Windowblinds and or my other Object Desktop programs?

Thanks Meowy but I tried tweaking the settings with no luck. It's weird but I get shadows on most windows. Shadows do not work on the start menu and taskbar (both worked perfect before the upgrade).. more ideas?

I upgraded today to 2.21 and lost the shadow effects on my start menu, taskbar and some right click menus. I tried unloaded, uninstalling, reinstalling etc.. still no luck. Anyone else with similar problem; but yet, do you have an answer? Thanks for all help.
Both of my clocks with minute and hour hands no longer work (after upgrade to newest DT-X) Is there a plugin or something that I need to add? Do the authors need to update? I use Etched clock and Glassy clock; both found here at winCustomize. Thanks.
I just loaded up the newest beta version of DT-x and now have no hands on my clocks! I normally use Etched Clock but I tried Glassy Clock as well with same results. Before this version of DT-x my clock worked great. What gives; any ideas? Thanks.

I no longer have the ability to load Visual Styles into Skinstudio for converting. I get a "that would be nice but that feature is not supported" error. What gives? I used to load skins with no problems before WB went 4.5. Any help greatly appreciated. I've tried importing many MS Styles skins lately without much success. In nearly all instances, the Start panel will not skin correctly. Additionally the more programs menu does not reflect the skin's bitmap ie. I get a simple line. Programs and My Documents type of windows do skin with the converted program. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
I'm sure glad I don't have to judge :-) There are so many awesome skins - kudos to everyone. In no particular order I'd consider these because of their eaze on the eyes and the way they blend into everyday use - perhaps 4 awards should be offered in this category?
