@Syneris: yes, but not before the patch went live due to more complexity of placing the hardpoints for that
Coplann
@Goat: hm, I dont know really because Iam not using Kryo's mod myself at the moment. Replacing existing ship models always worked for me though (otherwise there would be no screenshots of them ^^). Try the following: replace the S0_Tiny_0.X with the Sharlin or Nial then start a new game as human. Go into the Shipyard and look if the scout has the new model (or create a new ship using the small hull). thats how I test the models and it worke
Master of Magic 2 please first
working mods folder > * I say scrap 1.1 and work on that exclusively
last 2 pics work. those disruptors rock!
schon lustig wenn mehrere Deutsche versuchen sich miteinander auf Englisch zu unterhalten.
hm, I dont really know what else to say except create dummy, rotate it and place it on the hull/model. ^^ maybe I find time to take some screenshot of a work in progress to give you an idea this weekend.
Iam working on Babylon 5, not Star Trek
ah cool. if you manage to get them torps faster tell us how please. Imo both missile weapons and massdrivers should be much faster in combat.
the big ugly capital ship that was destroyed I think in the pilot movie was the Valen. dont remember the name of the smaller ranger ship the protagonists used though.
At some point after you load a saved game, it will tell you that all your units are outside their range. I encountered this in version 1.0X.1 too
ups, typo. was meant to be Battlecrab. meaning the Shadow main capital ship
if you are talking about ship designs (e.g. designs made with GC2 hulls and jewelry) you will find them at \My Games\GalCiv2\ships as you mentioned. however only if you use the same race ship style and have the proper technology level (if the ship design uses phasor or whatever you need to have the items researched). if you are talking about completely new ship models (like the Babylon 5 ships I did) you need to either edit the GC2.xml to in
me wants multiplayer too
thanks *blush* I finished and uploaded the Tinashi Light Cruiser today. Stardock will probably need another week until it is approved however. I will definitly do more models, but as said in a different post already my time is very limited these days. yes, I added the hardpoints in Max with dummies. after I finish the converting
@ Terraner05: those phasors look nice. how did you do them?
Iam crossing my fingers that Stardock will add multiplayer with an expansion. I enjoy GC2 the way it is, but would really love multiplayer too
@Terraner05 Pic doesnt work for me @ Galactic Ambassador well, Iam still interested, but Iam simply short of time these days (currently preparing for an exam in computer science next week). After that I hope to have more time to look into this. </
@ Galactic Ambassador: I encountered the same problem. Was trying to add a self illumination map/texture for the Sharlin Cruiser (so youd see lights of the windows glowing if its totally dark), but the X-Exporter ignores that it seems. I myself didnt investigate this any futher because the ships I work on right now (Minbari ones) dont have "glowing" or visible engines anyway. My approach would be to take another look at
Id sign up with Stardock as developer/programmer, but I dont really want to move to the US.
I totally agree with you Anubis.
no, you need to replace an existing ship file from \GalCiv2\Gfx\Models. the folder you used is for ship designs (ingame ones), not for ship models. my Blender exports X just fine btw
oblivion ships on 1 DVD. imo Oblivion is really an awesome game. I was kinda disapointed by Morrowind. the graphic engine was powerful, but the Morrowind province isnt really a beautiful setting to begin with and the atmosphere just wasnt that good. also the storyline was kinda weak imo. Oblivion on the other hand has a very interesting story and alot of improvements over Morrowind. especially the NPC behaviour is alot better and
Victor is an untalented clown imo. Kai Allard Liao for the win imo
in Max at least for dummies their orientation needs to be -X. so wherever the -X Axis of a dummy points the hardpoint ingame will point to too. at least thats what worked for me. what I still didnt test is how the other axis' influence the hardpoint (e.g. if GC 2 always keeps the same orientation for jewelry and only uses the -X Axis for the direction or if you can/have to rotate the others too in order to make sure that jewelry looks exactl
