edit: double post. damn web server

I didnt find a way to do it directly in Blender. Its X-Export is simply not as advanced as the Panda Exporter for Max it seems. However Blender should be able to make use of PNGs for textures without problems. Simply convert your tga's, Iff's, jpg's or whatever you have into PNG yourself before using them in Blender. For this you can use Irfanview ( http://www.irfanview.net ) one of the best free picture viewers. my ver
Iam using 3DS Max 8 (5,6 or 7 should work just as well for X-Exporting). you can download a 30 days free trial of it on their homepage. you can also use Blender (http://blender.org) or anim8r ( http://anim8or.com/main/index.html ) which are totally free. Blender has X-Export, dont know about anim8r. cant help you how texturing and everything else works for those because I only use Blender for additional options of importing/exporting models
should have ordered the game right here at Stardock as I did. could play all the time already and yesterday I got my box finally too. ^^
Prince Hanse Davion was the greatest of all. after his death it all went to hell. Drengin are chaotic evil usually. The Draconis Combine isnt evil really (that would be Capella imo or at least their degenerated leadership). would be cool if we could mod the AI behaviour for this
@Galactic Ambassador replying to your points of your post above: 2. use "ConvertTexture Map" the other options are not important from what I have seen. GC2 can handle it np "Scale Texture to nearest power of 2" means that the exporter will convert the size of the texture to 256*256 ( 2 to the power of 8) or 512*512 etc ... whatever power of 2 is closest. I used non-conform texture sizes (like 256*100 or whateber) without problems. "White diffuse overr
this is new to me as well.
yeah, but the demo version doesnt allow to save your converted models and 50 $ just for a conversion is not my idea of a good deal.
Iam still looking for lower quality models to use. wanted to use the one from the Babylon 5 mod of Star Trek Armada2, which are well done, but not that excessive in terms of polys, but I couldnt find a tool, programm or plugin to get the .sod format imported into Max or Blender etc. or converted into anything I can use. ;( Iam now looking if I can use Lightwave Models of Buda 5 v1.0 (Babylon 5 TC of I-War 1) (importing them into Blender, converting them into obj or dxf and then import
as far as I know it still doesnt work
w00t w00t!
Draginol appears in the campaign too
btw GC2 accepts comprimated binary X-Files. that reduced the size from 18,7 MB from my Sharlin Cruiser down to 5 MB. Which is still pretty big but way better than 18 MB for download purpose. didnt see a difference to a text X-File ingame. link works now thanks. Iam still looking for lower poly models to use so I dont have to make them myself (not enough time on my hands), but it seems most sites that had babylon 5 models for modding purpose are closed down now. <img src="ht
link not working for me
well the dummies are just cubes in Max for me. I dont see into what direction they face (or at least I dont know where I see it). ^^ gonna try playing arround with the size some more (omega was 7 parsec long on a tiny hull). ^^ for the rotation I used 3DS Max and let Panda export it as animation (at 3DS Max Objects activate "include animations", at Animations hit "Add" and add an animation within the used frames (0 to whatever), K
gonna try some hints posted here: https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=106751 tomorow, or today. well after I got some sleep (0.30 am here) ^^ Iam not going to even think about creating a total conversion or help working on one before the mod folder is working. my primary target right now is to create as many GC2 compatible X Files of B5 Ships as possible with enough dumm
you can add dummies in 3DS Max and they work. I just dont know how to change ingame ship size and the orientation of the dummies. http://www.new-avalon.de/GCmods/ShadowExample.JPG http://www.new-avalon.de/GCmods/OmegaExample.JPG p.s. the omega's hull section is rotating
some good information here. I have the following questions: #1 how can I change the orientation of dummies? I can add them and they work in the ship designer, however they always point in the same direction #2 how can I change the ingame-size of a ship? changing the size of the model before exporting doesnt seem to work really. here are 2 examples of what I have been playing arround with: http://ww
looks nice. keep up the good work.
well, after some more free updates they will focus on the GC2 expansion (hopefully with multiplayer support ). then after that they need to do Master of Magic 2 imo
nice changes. its hard to learn for finals when all you can think about is playing "just a couple more turns".
ich hab mir die englische versions direkt hier bestellt. warte leider immer noch auf die CD (kann schon lange spielen dank serial, aber na ja irgendwann man die CD zu haben wäre auch schön) ^^
Iam always up to try out MMOGames. ^^
/signed want multiplayer too
