I did some reading and watching and I like what RB has going for them... Seems that they are into integrity and I like that... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On a different note I am not happy with the way this game turned out. I did build starbases with only one base being an extender to get to a resou

I am in a game where I have two races at Friendly and two at warm. I have the tech Alliance and have even given it to all the other races. When I go into the trade screen Alliance is not an option under Treaties... Some advice would be appreciated. Thanks, oldgamster

Thanks to you both... But I have ran into a problem. seems I can't ally with anyone. I have the tech and have given it to all of the races. None are allied and I am the only one with trade routes going between the majors. and when I go into my trade screen alliance isn't an option! Trying to figure out what I am missing. oldgamster

Jaws: I think I saved them but not before two more flipped... They are stuck with two planets. When my constructor fleet arrived just outside the sector the Acrean capital was in it had the unhappy face on it as it was in a sector controlled by me. I zoomed the flrrt in and quickly built the base with cultural adds and gave it to them. I hope it moved the sector control back to yello... Have to wait and see as I didn't get to play much. My evil sofa seduced me into about 12 hours of sleep!!!
Citizen Jaws the Wayfarer wrote: try building a culture starbase in the appropriate sector, add some culture mods and gift it to them if you dont want them to flip.
Yes Sir I have eight constructors headed their way but what I am afraid of is the rate that their planets are flipping I may not make it there in time. The planets have been flipping every other turn at most. So I think it was four planets in 6 turns. I mean i know I am good looking and just down right sex

OK so this does pose a question in my mind... Has anyone pulled off a six way allied victory? Or how about is it possible to have an allied victory with a good and an evil? Like I said I am going to try to do a five way since the Alt's are gone. :( The trouble I have now is that the Acrean planets are flipping like hotcakes. I hope they can hold out long enough to be around at the end. But none the less for the experiments sake as long as the Deng/Yor and Tor's are around that would let me kno

Well there ya go... The voices of experience... Saves me a lot of time experimenting. LOL Yeah I wasn't too sure about what would happen... I know that I am now playing at normal level and I am giving them what I consider junk (low techs, drones, etc...) as tokens of my magnanimous spirit and it seems to be working very well... oldgamster

To add to what Prime Minister Spellforce said look at your trade routes map... select sectors with the most intersections in them to place starbases. since doing that I also try to set up my routes to make as many routes as i can intersect in one sector to really make the starbase make the big money... Another thing I thought about trying to do to control rampant AI's is to build several small colony ships to colonize some PQ10 - PQ12's and doing nothing to them but give them to the AI as soon as they are built... I think the 'gift' should improve their relationship with you and at the same time should knock their economy down... Now that I think about it there could be a lot of related benefits from this! Have to try it in my next game... oldgamster

No I think I am going to try to buy peace for all of them and then see if I can ally with each and see if I can pull off an allied victory... I was very disappointed when the Alt's caved but they had a very poor start and only one planet in the NE corner. I kept them afloat as long as I could feeding them techs, money, ships and built starbases on resources... but in the end they surrendered to the Dreng... One good thing is the Dreng destroyed all the bases so I have been able to reclaim them.<

Just thought I would share this screen shot of my Relations in the game I am currently running. File is 200k if you have a slow connection. http://www.eddiesworld.net/galciv/ This was just after the Dreng's took out the Alt's. The Alt's were friendly as well. All AI's are set to normal... Hello CariElf, Just wanted to report a text error. Starbase build screen>Economic>Interstellar Distributor: The description seemd to have more than one sentance, the description reads: "This module allows us to more efficiently handle our resources in a given sector. P" and that's the end of it. Seems the text should wrap but isn't. Thanks...

I keep getting contacted by the other civilizations that they want to trade for my tech. So I say I agree. There are times I will have one or two techs listed and the other guy has three or four. I try to make a trade and he will not accept any offer unless it is free or at most I can sell for a hundred or so credits. Can someone tell me what I am missing in this... Usually my trade percentage is good and I get the little message in parens saying something positive in my favor.

A funny thing happened today as I was playing a round of GalCiv. Though it's not particularly funny to me I am sure all of you will get a kick out of it... So there I was last night proud as ever. I finally finished a game and made the submission. Sure enough there it was. Sure it was a Medium galaxy in simple mode but none the less my first and with a 3200+ point score for a Cultural Victory. I fire off another game and think what the heck... I will bump it up a notch... Now n

Would like to verify it thi is just my system or everyone else see's the same thing... I have started too many games to count to check it out but on any new map in Sector: 0,0 Parsec: 0,2 is always clear of the Fog of War. Word missing from text on the Report for the Arvanitians: It reads "... they are quick anger ..." Should be "... they are quick to anger... " Please let me know if spelling and word errors should not be reported in this thread or not at all. -oldgams

I have one definite error and one possible bug (may not be a bug) 1. Pirates Captured Screen: Option 3: Spelling: "Get the location... ...found it and sold it, let the go - "... the should be them. 2. Civ Creation Screen: prior to patching the abilities section is pre populates with some abilities. After patch the abilities section is blank but there are 10 points to spend. (May or may not be a bug if this is intentional.) Thanks...

Thanks again... I went in and updated again from StarDock just to verify... I was mistaken in what I'd originally said. This has nothing to do with the Politiccal Parties... My ignorance in what I was looking at is what had me confused. Instead prior to patching the abilities section is pre populated. After patching there are no default abilities... just 10 points and a blank slate... I am going to post this into the bug thread as I found a spelling error to report. Th

Thanks to all of you... Hurley: Well I'm 42 going on 90 with the mileage I have on me... Funny thing about the eyes is they are 20/20, perhipheral is wider than standard all in all excellent. Fonts can be as small as they want on a monitor and I can read them fine. It is something about printed text that I begin to have what at first seemed blury vision. To make a long story short one of the tests does a couple things and it measures eye movement during the test. Well they found that my

I searched and read the 1.13 Bug thread but did not see my issue listed. After patching the game when I enter in to start a new Civ the political parties have no abilities. I was able to recover by running the repair option and basically depatching. Has anyone else had this issue before? Later, Oldgamster
