I thought I'd put my two sense in on this as well. I'm not to big on make up, or any of the glam and glitz (flashy jewelry, designer clothes, lots of perfume, etc.) When it comes to special dates and stuff I can appreciate the effort a girl may make to primp themselves up if we're going somewhere nice, but day to day I'd rather she spend the time with me that she is taking up by "getting ready." I think it's about balance. If makeup is a part of ge

The subtitle basically says it all for this post. Feeling like prolonging the lazy tone that my Sunday was taking I decided to take in a movie at the cheap theater. My friend Annie wasn't really in the mood for a chick flick, though I do admit that mood has struck me on occasion, but we decided to see Paycheck...or should I say....endure. Seriously this movie only cost us $2 a pop, but it was barely worth that. They really couldn't decide

Thanks for reading guys...it actually was originally composed as a "rhyme" not as a poem. It was based off of an actual conversation I had with someone where I used king of the mountain as an anology. WF - I will give that post a look right now.

Remember when we were kids and we played king of the mountain, We’d fight our way to the top pushin’ and shoutin’ The stronger kids always won, But we still all thought it was fun. When we were tired bruised and done. Now here’s the scenario, As the middle class begins their climb,

Well homey, now I will check out your stuff if you do the same for me. I've noticed the same thing though...only a few people have something to say about my poems. Which is fine, I just wish more people would read them. I'm kind of trying to form a little community of online poets and get an ongoing list through my blog to connect with other poets. WiseFawn has been very kind to read through a number of my poems. Good luck, and I'll

The monotony of your day sounds a lot better than the randomness of mine on occassion. I was thinking this post might have something to do with the Smashing Pumpkins song "today," but instead it was just you moochin the title....for shame.

Well recapping the weekend thus far I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. Though I did learn the hard way that by accepting a number of free drinks provided by friends thereby forcing me to leave my car in a parking ramp in minneapolis, paying $20 for a cab to get home and then having to pay $17 the next day after finding a friend nice enough to drive me back out there and pick it up. God I hate cars....I can't wait until it's warm enough and the

So many things to consider...makes me so upset when people vote with little consideration about the candidates at all but look only at extrenal cues to guide them.

Sherye, you're a poet? I think I may jog my way over to your blog....please feel free to scan through my poems and let me know what you think...I should be posting at least one or two a week.

Sorry Chris, at 1.80/gallon there is no way I'm going to make that four hour drive...well unless of course you have some pretty ladies waiting for me.

my insomnia grows with age...I think I'm heading down the same path as my dad who sleeps about 3 hours a night. Regardless of when I go to sleep I'm doomed to wake up at 6am or so...not very good for the nightlife....or my health, but at least it gives me a chance to get my ass up and be crabby for more hours than most people.

I guess I was hoping the poems would be about summer...but hey, whatever works. Are these for a class too? Bring on the French Class poems....though, I suppose since they're in french I won't be able to read them anyway....so I can tell you how good they are based on faith.

I don't know if you're quote by Rush really leads me to believe he made some profound comment about free speech. I believe I could find many quotes by Rush condemning people for their choice to exercise their free speech. Second, what kind of arbitrary fine is that $755,000? Like a fine like that would do anything to Clear Channel communications. Hell, if what was said that resulted in such a fine generated enough interest for their radio

Well actually Nader has already proposed tons of legislation...though with little success of course. Nader's running is symbolic in that by gaining attention for Nader could mean that candidates who stand a chance may have to at least address issues that Nader's presence could raise. I think the more third party candidates the better....it's tragic that they never stand a chance, that's not very democratic. And Bakerstreet....so what if th

Well I play bass...not seriously, but I'd like to. I have tabs for it, but as for other music....no. My favorite band is morphine which I wouldn't be surprised if you've never heard of...but their makeup was sax, bass, and drums....very influential on me.

First off, how come the only choices for political discussions here are international, democrat and republican? Oh well.....okay so here goes my rant, regardless of whether a lot of people will write me off for this. I will have to do a lot more soul searching...but mostly as a vote of protest I will more than likely be voting for Nader unless someone can really convince me to see past my biases against rich people (Kerry) or tell me somethin

"a good woman is hard to find" - morphine Well I think I'm going to be starting work at 6:45 this summer so if I want to bike to work I'll be getting up at around 5 or so in order to make the 15-20 mile ride on time....at least I'll be in kick ass shape though missing out on the night life....now I gotta find that good woman...she's gotta be around here somewhere.

Chris, it's interesting to revisit such writing isn't it? I come across a lot of old notebooks and it makes me realize why my 8th grade teacher thought i was suicidal. Poetry probably isn't meant for form or flow unless that's what you're going for. Most of it I do for me then seek a little validation by people cool like you who take the chance to read it. Poetry is the most unprofitable of printed press which is good and tragic at the same time I

What's with all these fans of The Game....isn't that the flick with Edward Norton and Hackman? I think I shut that movie off after 45 minutes...which is weird cause I never stop a movie, and I love Norton....am I thinking of the right flick?
