i stopped playing galciv over a month ago because i got bored with it. the major glitch was i wanted to select a different race to be, like drengin or torrian etc., but the game doesn't let you. i wanted to play other players online, but there's no option for that either. if altarian prophecy allows you to do all this, then i'll buy it, otherwise this game is boring to me. that's the one big major reason i crossed over to playing stellar frontier instead. alot more action & fun and you can p

I was definitely having a blond moment today. Like I should have checked to see if there was a strategies tab on the left, I just never look there or noticed it before. Now I definitely have a better perspective of the game. No cheating necessary, and you're right, it does take away the fun of playing the game. Thank you guys so much! :) P.S.- Whiny crying little bitch is gone! LOL
I've tried everything to reduce the chances of getting an anomalous score, but cannot seem to crack it. I've used the galciv writer a little here and there to tweek some ships, techs, improvements, and political parties, however, keeping a good balance between them, like increasing their cost per ship tweek, increased penalties for loss of government control, and so on. I've even downloaded some Stardock approved mods, but I seem to keep getting that big fat zero for a score. Also, I've notic
actually i found the gcwriter at http://www.ctuit.com/bill/galciv.htm pretty nifty little editing program; this is kinda what i was looking for to begin with. :)
Having issues with the game now (multiple crashes).....oops! I remember now; already had 1.20 upgrade and did the conversion, no wonder why! Ok, trying this later...uninstall (making sure I manually delete all mods and pics)....reinstall, convert, and then update...well, your directions on your site weren't very precise (actually, if you read them carefully, it says to install before upgrading and after, which is very confusing), so I hope this works... ;)
My bad MadMaz, Like duh, I should have taken the time to read through all the threads before repeating other peoples gripes. The corrected link can be found in message 58, 71, 82 and 98. -moondoggy369 :SURPRISED:

Big star wars fan here! ;p
So where do you put .gcs (scenario) files in to play? I've tried putting them in the saved games folder and a bunch of other folders, but can't seem to load them as a saved game. I'll just wait for Altarian Prophecy to come out then.
Thank you 2, I found it, and updated!
definately looking forward.....can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I must be retarded or having one hellofatime trying to obtain a more recent updated version of Galactic Civ. I don't know why, but I keep getting version 1.10, and nothing higher than that. I would like 1.13 or higher, but I'd settle for 1.13. I've tried www.stardockcentral.com through the stardock central web browser, but to no avail; kept redirecting me to www.GalCiv.com to download. What am I doing wrong and what should I try? Cookies are on and the security levels of my computer have be
:( I just wish there was a free editor for those who bought G.C. from the site or from the store (got mine from Best Buy) and want to create scenarios or campaines for myself instead of dealing with all the other namby pamby stuff. I'm not big on keeping scores (I think the highest score I had was like 8900 or something) or playing games (empires) with others online; just want to have wholesome fun creating different impossible suicidal situations. I guess I'm an evil war monger at
I was inquiring about this because someone submitted a scenario to this G.C. library and was wondering if there is a G.C. scenario editor. Just wondering.... -moondoggy :) P.S.- if not, then how the heck do you create one, because there isn't anything in the manual about how to do this.
