The latest Detonator 3 drivers (12.41)lock up my system with a TNT2 and Win2K. Had to find that site that has the older ones to save me from the dreadful OEM drivers. The 11.01 set seems to be pretty stable.

You're right BoXXi - your wallpaper didn't make it onto the newest additions list. There are now several newer ones that are on the list. Must be a script related error... sounds like a job for the experts. Maybe Alexandrie or T-Man will read this...
BoXXi has a new submission called "Life?" that hasn't shown up in the newest additions list yet. It's still the newest wallpaper in the list so I'm assuming it just needs a bit more time to get on the list over there -->
I think it just takes a while for it to show up....
Without going into specifics (as there is no request for a detailed critique) the wallpaper in question here was not rejected for it's XP content (though that didn't help). Crae - thanks for the link to Shoggot's famous moderation rant. It's hard to think of a better term to use for a rejection on aesthetic evaluation than 'moderated'. I assume it's use hasn't been copyrighted by thirty4i. Overall, my impression is that it's not that hard to get a wallpaper in here. I wish ti
That's hysterical!!
Tarkus - I'd like to decline to comment on that unless XPfreak really wants me to get specific in this forum about his piece. I will say however, I hadn't seen the one you linked to before but it has a nice layout for a desktop image. It's also in the enormously popular "blue" color
Exactly what I was about to say T-Man. The wallpapers were not moderated until we realized that it was necessary. At first, everything submitted was accepted. We came to the conclusion there is no reason to host an enormous collection of wallpapers that will not be used on any desktops because they just don't have enough appeal. A bit of selective judgement is definitly called for here. There are several moderators all of whom have a great deal of experience with digital artwo
In the beginning... for me at least, these "old-timers" were my heroes: Fli7e - made winamp skins before it was a skinnable app. And his nemesis - Pordy a very prolific winamp skinner. misery - doodle - kig - H Lowendaller - Bronze - Supa - Precursor and Vendicator. All great artists, and masters of the mp-3 players, whose work has inspired the entire digital art scene. When I finally made a winamp skin myself, the greatest source of inspiration for me at the time was: Topaz (Kel
I had a horrendous failure too. Lost the hard drive in my notebook and corrupted a lot of my desktop's files. This is a real wake-up call for me as far as mirroring and backing up goes... I'm a believer now. As for speed, I too remember the increase that you got with faster processor speeds being obvious in screen draws and saving files. Now it seems that the speed is a false promise after a certain point. Although, that being said, I am definitly upgrading my desktop from the 450MhzPII
wow... seems I missed an emotional occurrence here. Just got back online after two days of formatting/installing etc. For the record... This site does not deserve the petty and arrogant attacks it gets from the losers that think they get to define the skinning community's ethics for everyone else. And.... Tom Cruise is a coward. I'm not impressed at all.
well, according to my other brother Darryl the WB config screen has a checkbox to decide if you do or don't accept the auto-loading of a wallpaper. It's in "Settings" at the bottom of the list under "Enhance Desktop elements" and it says "Apply any wallpaper supplied"
uhm... perhaps if you were a Catholic it would be paxx otherwise it might not make sense... The wallpaper moderation process will ultimately be a great benefit to this site (imho). Although the skins are not moderated for artistic merit, I agree that the wallpapers absolutely should be. It would be a shame to end up with thousands of 'practice' Bryce landscapes and Photoshop swirlies which would mak
haha - 20th? err I think even that is old news now Jafo. yes crae, uncomfortable as it was... I did :Þ
wow! I did not know about SRI... I always thought Xerox was the first GUI and mouse. Anybody remember DRDOS or PCMOS? I kinda miss PC Tools and Norton Commander sometimes...
MADMETZ - it seems a lot of your wallpapers have been moderated by the admins. The ones that don't appear in the list anymore are no longer here.
I got a 43.80% which the rankings describe as a closet nerd... hmmmmm
...and then, if you just hang out on the corner long enough, you can get a title like mine...
my registration runs out in ten days Time flies.... Don't know when I'll be able to re-up but it will definitly be up there on the priority list.
I've been away for a week and still have a few more days (at least) of no play time on the computers. I think both my machines are in for a reformat which is a painful experience for me. I never back up anything and it takes days to get the system back to normal. Welcome back Tananda and I hope you're still around when I get hang out here again
Happy Birthday DA!! One year is quite an acomplishment and the site seems to grow bigger every day. Great job and congrats to Jark and all the deviants!
Destinesia - going to a room to get something and forgetting what it was when you get there.
crae - you'll get your reward in heaven... or so they tell me when it's supposed to be payday but the cupboard is bare...
I got to hang around the invention of computer graphics in 1970 at Ohio State where three artists and the entire math department were creating crude monochrome line drawings on a UNIVAC that cost thousands of dollars per hour to run. Several years later I studied fortran and cobal just long enough to decide that I was not a programmer at heart. Worked with a Motorola Four-Phase system in '78 and then with Visicalc on an Atari for doing retail shop records. Breifly played with a Comodore and then
here's the reply I got from him: __________________________________________________ Hi, First of all I’ll remove the skins you mention, however there not taken from the site you mention, www.wincustomize.com It’s the first time I see this site. “It has also been noticed that you "borrowed" the layout and design from Wincustomize in the ICQ section.” I’m sorry but I have never been on this site.
