Recently, Draginol managed to ban anonymous posting from users in the thread "Do Democrats Hate America?". I'm hoping Draginol will follow suit in making certain all threads are free from anonymous users who often do little more then: * Spam * Are actually spam bots * Disrupt JU citizen discussion with random insult and trolling<

Your pinko toe? That's the sh*t! I hope it passes quickly.
Thanks, ParaTed. I'm glad you like the topic, it grew out of Draginol's thread "Do Democrats Hate America?" I'm happy you and Charles, and Doc had something to add. I wonder if one of the reasons few others are sharing is because many of us here share most of the same likes and dislikes of America. That was kinda' my point of creating this thread, unless people willfully divide us and get us at each others throats we realize we generally share some very similar thoughts on what's r
"when in doubt, blame America...and never give America the benefit of any doubt" - No, I've never said that, you're putting words in my mouth. Any time you see me expressing discontent with the Iraq situation I don't blame 'America' I criticize the people that are supposed to be making good judgement calls on our behalf - that's it. .... No, I really don't wish death on you, what I wish on you is that you be forced to live the way you callously wish on the people o
But Cacto, Parated isn't an Muslim Extremist! Seriously, Parated, if you want to talk, let's talk. I'll talk openly and sincerely with you in the calmest fashion if you do the same. That's a Def. Promise. If you don't want to do so here then you know where to find my profile and the email to match it. We can always agree to disagree if we can't find common ground. I'm certain you're not actually personally threatening me, but I will let you kno
I could waste much of my time carving up quotes (particularly the ones provided on this thread) from Pres. Bush, a man who has said: " I'm the commander — see, I don't need to explain — I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president. " —as quoted in Bob Woodward's Bush at War. (A book I OWN) " Oh, no, we're not going to have any casualties. " —discussing the Iraq war with Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson, as qu
Deference, may you someday be forced to live the life you would gladly push on the people of Iraq. You deserve it. Parated2k Don't start with phony humanist b.s., Parated2k. This is about calling on a fellow blogger to do more then cut and paste, wouldn't you agree?
There are people that are worth it - YOU .
Obsession, I don't think you've anything to add but quote propaganda from Mr. Bush without any point but to reverberate what he says. That tells us very much about you and your objective. Speak your mind, make a point, or fuck off. We already have a resident automaton. Sincerely, Deference
I've decided that JU's extremely opinionated denizens might like to voice their opinions on what they like and dislike about America. That means any aspect of America. This can be it's present form, the tax burden we share, the culture in which we live, the political pa
I don't hate America, Doc., but we do need throw out those old clothes - meaning tossing out most of the incumbents. I'm starting to believe it extremely important that we begin specifying what it is we like and don't like about America instead of straight yea! or nays! . It's pretty obvious using this question in this way doesn't serve anybody well. What I like about America: The Freedoms we Used To Have (credit to George Carlin for that one) The
I'm glad you guys like it. Gotta' love that classic '80's, and Dub does it so well!
On September the 11th, 2001, we found that problems originating in a failed and oppressive state 7,000 miles away could bring murder and destruction to our country. - President Bush, State of the Union Address, February 1st, 2006 Tuesday, August 22, 2006: BUSH: The terrorists attacked us and killed 3,000 of our citizens before we started the freedom agenda in the Middle East. QUESTION: What did Iraq have to do with it? BUSH: What did Iraq have
I've always held a very special place for George Dub in my heart for all the great material he's provided humourists. This one is currently my favorite. Enjoyable and non-offensive to those who support and don't support him. Enjoy. Link <!-
Nobody else has any fun theories? Oh, it's two o'clock. Fudge.
Thanks, but that's a bit off topic.
The policies of a country are a part of it's whole. If my town suddenly adopted some outrageous policies such as curfews or put up checkpoints throughout my city it's 'fair and decent' points would get a few knocked off. I think a bit less of America because of some of the policies we've adopted. I believe this 'Is America Fair and Decent' is becoming a new 'Support the Troops'. Some sort of blanket statement used to divide people in to two groups - those within and those
Ooh! I've got one. You can sometimes go into a church and hear the preacher complaining about "activist judges." In fact my father is a preacher and can barely resist the urge to tell how Democrats are everything wrong with America. - Noumenon I hate to pry, but what church does your father preach in?
I've read this before, and the analogy would work if the Republican party were a fiscally conservative party. - T. Wahine *in best Beavis voice* Yeah! Yeah! Me too!
I'm going to check out the book, I'm always up for new material to compare / contrast - it always give one a better view the more sources one has.
Neeeto. I'd pick some composite form of your options. If we left, nearly immediately, a smaller U.N. force would be present to guard against an Iranian / Shia double-team takeover. President Bush would enjoy a small bounce back in the polls of about ten points and as Iraq (as most world news does unless we are specifically involved) fades in to the background Bush's poll points would probably creep back up to the fifties within a few months. Defense cont
For the record: I don't like how our taxes are spent. I think we spend too much on the military and I think we are taxed too high. But that doesn't mean I will suddenly pretend that medicare and medicaid aren't taxes. They're confiscated from us forcibly and thus should be included (and ARE included) in any official pie chart of what the government is doing with the money it collects from us. - Draginol I agree, and thanks for your time. There are some finer points
It is like hating your best friend because of the outfit she wore one day. - Doc. Guy Sure, Doc., but she keeps wearing the same outfit day in day out. A pattern of behaviour is beginning to show. It's not exclusive to the executive branch either.... Throw them all out!
If you Google "War Resisters League" "Republican Convention" it looks like they are pretty into partisan politics. - Noumenon Simply because one group criticizes another doesn't make them 'partisan'. As I correctly mentioned, "[the league has]not affiliated itself with, given credit to, or patronized any political party within it's 73 year existence." The appeal to universal values is standard. Listen to Bush talk about democracy and freedom some time, doesn
"Social Security is a trust fund that is continually robbed... which is why it is insoluble." (Insolvent is the word.) No wonder he thinks liberals are a little inferior. - Noumenon Welcome, Noumenon! It's good to have a spelling and grammar checking professional on the premises. Though I'd once again have to say I'm having severe issues editing some posts, I'd be glad to simply roll over on that issue and insist that you become Chief Spelling and Grammar Checking Inspe
