I'm on board. And by "on board," I mean...

I'm sorry. I was enjoying Eugene in passing as comic relief, but I'm not thrilled to hear that he played such an integral part in the Championship match, or even that storyline. 5 meh's/5 meh's
Good deal. I wish I had some field stories. I went to the field, once... my wife has more field stories than I (having been to NTC once). Maybe I can get her permission for those...
Isn't that the way? You can never make a LT happy... if you do it his way, you wind up doing it wrong, and bringing the wrath of higher down...
Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade... because it's what my wife had left in the fridge.
dharma - You asked if getting married at 13 is a little different than looking at an 11 year old in a sexual fashion. It's about the same as the difference between marrying a 22 year old or looking at an 18 year old in a sexual fashion. Yes, even with whip's counter-examples of the previous conventions of young marriage, your 11 year old is a bit too young.
I hope you enjoy LJ. I'll point out, however, that the reason there is less drama there is that there is less traffic... often cases a lesser sense of community. The only people that tend to visit your site are ones that you've directed there yourself. (Yes, I realize you've directed us all there in this article, but that's not quite the same... probably only those with an emotional attachment will go out of their way to visit you.) Regardless,
Prob. should've posted one a day. Or, like greywar, one every couple of weeks. Build the suspense/frustration/urge to kill the author. Would also probably get more responses. Good story so far, though. Longer than I would've thought.
REM used to make me cry, but that's because I would intentionally listen to it over and over again when I was depressed. That 3 Doors Down song doesn't make me cry... except for an edited version they played near base here, where they spliced in messages from deployed troops' families in the dead spaces between lyrics.
I'm 5/5 on having heard these as well. The LT one can be made worse by adding "in ROTC..." 1SG Gregarious had said that last one a couple of times to me when I was his O-Room clerk. Then he'd call someone in and make them cry. There was one time he made up whatever it was he was going to yell at them about, got them to the verge of tears, and then told them he was just fucking with them (in those exact words, actually). I miss him. (He a
Most dissatisfying. greywarrish, even, in the coitus interruptus of storytelling. As such, I give it a 5/5.
Pretty much any movie that shows a true hero sacrificing for others. Black Hawk Down was rough for me, although it was rougher when I read the book (which I did first, back at DLI). The book goes to even greater lengths to show you enough about each soldier, to make them real to you, and then it slaps you in the face with their deaths. But I've totten teary over other stupid hero stuff, too. Spider-Man 2 got to me, ferchrissakes. It's a
Take care of yourself while you're out of town. You'll be in our thoughts. And don't think I won't miss your personality, too, muffinass.
Aw, dude. You read more negative in than I intended, but it's partially my part for "tone." You could actually look at my comment of you being "insightful" as a compliment, as well. It was a good rip on my fellow arrogant elitist. (Additionally, you don't have to make a blog if you register. It just allows you to accumulate userpoints, which you don't care about, and gives us more user poin
Do that article, or I will for you. And dharma. And some others. (You can view anyone's results, apparently. Mine are tame compared to yours and hers.)
Mostly, if I'm kept up nights on post, it's because of dumbasses driving around with their car stereos turned up too loud, or drunks fighting in the street. Monobrow lives in a location that manages to funnel lots of noise from distant firing ranges, tho. He hears a lot of artillery and machine gun fire, sometimes. Night fire's a bitch...
Please don't say things like that. It makes me miss your... personality.
I would've given HoS an "insightful,' but I feel it would be wasted on his non-registered self.
Wow. I especially like the part where you get reamed for her screw-ups.
Already read already. And that easily explains your omnipresence here right now. Obligatory-On-Topic-Content: I'm missing Spleen, the Pork one, and now Eclectic Music (although I have a good guess on the last two, I think).
Happened all the time out at Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. A local pizza delivery guy would get a bunch of pizzas real cheap at work, and then sell them for $5 a piece up at the barracks (technically not allowed, but no one stopped him back then). Guess it wouldn't fly now with the increased security. At least if the senior with the shotgun was awake...
I was blown away by that comment as well, Lassie. Good shit, girl. I also was glad to see you post on your LJ account.
Come to think of it, I'm lost on the last few as well. I blame my general sense of apathy that I've seemed to inherit from SPC Robojew. Of course, I further blame society. Lass, I've checked your livejournal at least once a week since you first mentioned it. Are you saying you've posted something now?
Yer ass isn't as big as hers, and is attached to a much nicer person, to boot. I don't think it will offend for me to tell you that you are much more attractive than she is (in innumerable ways). It was pissing, all the same. I'm sure it didn't all stay in, y'know? And then there was the story of how he lost his virginity...
I'm not sold on "teh pretty" either. I think the main attraction she held for those she "dated" was "teh easy." In other news, the Persian Sangus will apparently make his return to our home, soon... stories of pissing on women, ho!
