Thanx I'll be sure to see how they work before putting together my own. BTW, is there any way of making stuff like the title bar partially transparent?
Aqua.
what's that box with the eyes? A wizop only emoticon? I'm jelous.
Box, I keep getting server errors when submitting. I would have given you the error code but I forgot to copy it, sry. Gotta run, I'll be back in a little over an hour and a half.
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out after classes are over for the day. BoXXi, check out "What is the Matrix?" by Mercury.
BoXXi, take a look at "What is the Matrix?" by Mercury.
I just did a search on Desert Rose, no results.
I'm mostly asking because most of the basic variations on a skin have been done a thousand times each, I want to try something different.
Also, is there a way of making window frames and the task bar partially transparent?
I would like to put the system buttons down the side of the frames instead of in the title bar. Is this possible? Also, would the buttons be hidden to people who have windowblinds set to not display the sides of the frames when maximized? I intend to see for myself this evening, but I would appreciate it if someone already knows.
It's always nice to have a quick reference at hand, even when you know what you're doing.
or simply email your logons to a friend that has XP. (of course also give them a copy of logonstudio so that they can view it for testing purposes)
Ok, I criticized, so here's something I consider to be hilarious. The reuse of some object-oriented code has caused tactical headaches for Australia's armed forces. As virtual reality simulators assume larger roles in helicopter combat training, programmers have gone to great lengths to increase the realism of their scenarios, including detailed landscapes and, in the case of the Northern Territory's Operation Phoenix, herds of kangaroos (since disturbed animals
That's supposed to be funny?
There's some listed on the front page. Also *plug* check out https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=26&SkinID=601 and https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=26&SkinID=589
Bryan, I haven't seen a single one of the programs incompatabilities that you have mentioned. I have used just about all the programs you mentioned on AOL connections, no problems whatsoever. There are good reasons not to like AOL, but you need to educate yourself on them before you go off and rant.
He's also selling "his" work. I think it is good that he is selling his work. I think it isn't good that apparently he's also selling other people's work even when he does give them credit.
Ok, first point. The thumbnails rarely do anything justice, but they can only see the full thing if they click on the thumbnail. The way you convince people to have a sneak peak is to have an interesting comment or info on the making in the comment box of the wallpaper when you submit. Second point. It's all subjective, direct this question to Jafo or paxx and they will be able to answer in greater detail. Check this offical (but rough) set of guidelines: https://www.wincustomize.co
Use Stardock's SkinStudio to put the skin together. Use any graphics program to create the images used in the skin. As for tutorials, you can do a search on the internet, but I didn't really find any useful ones. The best thing you can do is load an existing skin in SkinStudio and piece by piece see what does what and goes where. Experimentation is the best way to learn.
Will do, once I figure out how. Thanks
Excellent idea There's a bunch of tutorials on how to achieve that effect and also several out there that say exactly how quicktime and apple go about it. I'll be interested in seeing what you come up with.
Glad to be of service, I myself only started a week or two ago.
I'll try reducing most of the graphics to 16bit. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get photoshop to do 8 bit bmp graphics.
Ok, that makes sense to me. But do you know if I can reduce their size to 1px by 1px? Most people don't touch their logons so I don't give a hoot if you want to I don't know about you, but filesize is important to me.
I've tried doing that, the logon editor converted it into a bmp every time.
I'm wondering, now that I know it checks to see whether or not certain images are there, does it also check their sizes? I was thinking that I could make unused images 1px x 1px.
