RedRew-Cru Beta has been uploaded, look for it tomorrow after (7 GMT) In the meantime, I would appreciate feedback on RedRew-Cru Alpha https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=18&SkinID=311
Aqua.
Heck no, I turned those off the very day I bought the card.
I was thinking about licensing it for $100 for 10 computers and $10 per additional computer, does this seem fair to you? Also, should I use the same pricing scheme for the government? There's an admiral that is interested in one of the themes I am currently working on.
I updated my video drivers last month to the latest nVidia offerings which did increase performance a slight bit. My anti-virus program only scans network traffic. (I'm using norton 2002) Hmmm, I just noticed that when I unload WB & then load it again my system runs much faster. Well, that's a temporary solution, but it's good enough for now.
Related question: About what might be a good price to charge for selling a WB theme to a customer? I'm talking about a small business that wants to buy a theme using their business colors and logo.
Well, actually I'm running WinXP. I referred to the gray bars because thats what I get after I unload WB (though I'm not too fond of the Luna theme either). I'm running on a Celeron 700 (don't laugh) w/256mb ram and a 32mb nVidia card. I've already tweaked the hell out of my system using TweakXP. As for startup, only the stuff I use constantly every session (WB, winfx, mozilla, trillian, and winamp) start up automatically. BTW, no, the computer doesn't get faster unless I un
Thanks for the suggestion. I have 2 skins I'm working on, logons are definitely easier by comparison.
treetog, I'm a modem user and pages bog down when they have more than 10 skins per page. My suggestion: In "Edit Account Preferences" > "Web Viewing Preferences" there is a max # of skins per page option. You might want to make this apply to lists of author's skins as well as the regular galleries. My $0.02
While I absolutely love WindowBlinds, it dramatically slows my computer. When I have WB unloaded my computer reacts 2-3 times faster then when I have WB loaded. I loathe the regular gray bars etc. of the default windows interface, but I can't afford to wait forever for windows to open and close or for menues to take a half minute or more to open. What are some ways to speed up WB?
please?
This is my first logon theme. I would appreciate some comments (made in the logon's comment box, not here) letting me know what I did well, what I screwed up, and how I can do logons better in the future. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=26&SkinID=589
I have a very cheap Nvidia MX 200, it does all the FX stuff no problem. It only has 32mb of memory but is noticably better than the graphics capabilities that are built into my intel motherboard. Good job for only $30.
Well, I've been using Mozilla since last winter (now using 1.1) and it is noticably faster than IE. Heck, it even starts faster.

I think there is a plugin you can find for skin studio that will put a winamp control in the window titlebars. There also might be a control for ObjectBar. Now if there was one for the regular taskbar (like M$FT is doing for WMP9) that would be nice.
It's very easy. 1) Pick a wallpaper for your background. 2) Decide what color scheme you'll use. 3) Create a new logon. 4) Open the bmp's in an image editor. 5) Modify those bmp's to whatever you want. 6) Save the bmp's and refresh the preview window of the logon editor. 7) Change the colors in the logon editor (the logoneditor is extremely simple and self explanatory) 8) Save, test, upload
Question: Why is a high volume site like wincustomize on IIS?
Hmmm, that's odd. I submitted a logon about five hours ago and it has already been through the approval process. Unfortunately it was declined, but oh well .
There is a setting that allows you to use a taskbar from one theme while skinning everything else with another theme. I'm pretty confident all you have to do is uncheck the box that corresponds with that option and your problem will be solved.

I have posted a preview image under the name RedRew-Cru in the Graphics section. It should be up in a day or so, when you find it please give me some feedback in the comment area of the preview.
Progress report: Redid top frame, start bar will have to wait for another day. Recolored skin to be a burnt orange instead of the glaring orange that was on the site. Other than the frame, the rest of the skin is Alexandrie's XP Platinum at the moment, though that will change as I continue working on it. Do you want the skin as is or wait till I'm finished?
