Yes!! Let the mass squishing begin.

Charge you for using your computer?? Where in blazes did you find out about that? Microsoft said they would have a solution for low income households to buy computers. You pay a low price for a computer, and then you buy digital time cards that the computer reads to continue using it. After a while or a short period of time, depending on how much
As to the drivers, most probably. But there are a LOT of people out there who really have no clue what's in their system, or, for example, what "DirectX 9.0c compliant" means or why a GeForce4 MX is inferior to a GeForce3. For those people, the Vista performance rating will be a godsend if it's reasonably predictable from a which-video-cards-equate-to-which-rating standpoi
Windows V3, V3.1, win 2000, Win 95, Win 98, XP etc - all were deemed by the doomsayers as the end of mankind as we know it, as they demonstrated Microsofts evil intentions. PCs were doomed to fall pray to an operating system so full of holes and obvious failures we may as well pack up the PC, go Apple and be done with it. Acutally Vista is meant
Oh, Vista doesn't have a driver database like xp does. You better have a driver cd that comes with stuff you get when you have Vista. And All those games that were made before or when direct X 8.1 came out will most likely not run on Vista. With Vista comes two dirext X versions. direct X 10 and a weird thing, (probably wrong about designation), like direct X 10.L for legacy. That is supposed to support all previous versions of direct X except below 8.1 and maybe even 8.1 itself. So if a game wa
I think we should start a boycutt on stores that sell Vista. Get petitions signed and stuff like that. If a large amount of the public went to Walmart and said: "We are not going to shop here anymoer until you stop selling Vista! And heres all our names on paper" And then all those people don't shop at walmart period and invite others not to also. After a month or perhaps a few months you better believe Walmart will start doing comercials about how good they are and finally if
I never knew any of that. They actually charge you on how much you are on your computer? That is HORRIBLE. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. I thought microsoft was PURE evil. Now they are at 150% evil. HEY look at that, they're at odds with the korath. Well you can buy the computer on credit or pay full price upfront and not have to deal wiht that. But th

Sorry, I'm trying to edit it again but the edit button is gone.

Playing with the new gfx and then going back to the old makes the game suck. I need to correct myself. This doesn't make the game suck. It is just dissapointing. I just like the new gfx soo much.
Is this supposed to happen with the newest beta. All my weapon graphics have reverted back to the original galciv2 graphics. Playing with the new gfx and then going back to the old makes the game suck. I already sent in a debug and saved game to the correct email address but I was just wondering if this is how it's supposed to be? I have even unistalled DA and reinstalled DA and that does not fix it.
Well... I deleated everything and moved to a different computer. It works fine on the computer I moved it to. The computer I had it on was making a screeching noise everytime I started it up. It was making a metalic screeching noise. Not fun.
I tried to run DA today and I got a message that DALaunch.exe could not be found. I then chose to click on the GC2DarkAvatar.exe and a window came up asking for my email address and serial number. I entered all of that information in and then it started loading it and then crashed. It doesn't ask me for that informaiton anymore but it does continue to crash every time I try to start DA.
Thanks. I didn't read far enough down on that thread. I thought Frogboy would have posted the changelog in his post.
I don't know if the new features are bugs or changes? For instance, I only have 5 race ability points to use on custom races now. And I start with a lot of abilities with no points to them but I have them like I used 1-2 point on them. If I hit reset they are all still there. Kind of kills any reason to create custom races since each one has the same preset abilities. A changelog would be helpful.
Variety is the spice of life. I went down from 21 movement points a turn to 3 when I went through Yor space. I thought is was cool, from the standpoint of different super abilities. I agree that is is not any different than having the super hiver, first strike, and superbreeder abilities. It's part of the game. It adds strategic depth. How are we going to deal with the Yor? You can create your custome race and choose the Yor's ability as your own and screw any invasion fleets, maybe. Right now I
My experience with the beta has been the combat system is a lot better. I had one ship that has 27 missile defense and it blocks mostly everything. Except whenever I attacked a Torian fighter with 3 mass driver attack I always took 3 damage. That is the only problem I've had with defenses.
I was thinking that having a treaty where if accepted would prohibit empires from placing ships within a certain distance from each other's colonies. Say about 20 squares, or movement points away, (or maybe the terms can be set by the player or computer controled empire, whichever is proposing it), and if opposing empire colonies are within 20 movement points of each other it would be set lower. Of course something would have to be figured out for two oppossing empires in the same star system, t
Well I started a new game and I was able to attack mining bases this time. My enemies are having fits! Haha.
Oh.. I had just been looking in the DA directory. Makes sense it would be in the mydocuments foler.
My ships did have weapons and they just occupied the same spot as the mining base when I moved it there. I have already finished that game and saved over it so I'll have to start a new one. If it happens again I will send in the saved game. And I agree that mining ships shouldn't be used up when building mining bases. I think it costs more to make a mining ship than the amount of bonus you get from creating mining bases until I have a high mining tech.
I've played two games and both epic stories were exactly the same except different names were inserted. And it left important events out. They were both extreamly vauge on what was going on. I think this is a cool feature but it's obviously going to need more than typo fixes. I can't post them becuase we were told not to,(and I wouldn't even if I could) and because they aren't created as a file seperate from the game. It is only possible to read it on the summary pages after the game is over.
I get buffer overrun errors all the time and I unistalled it and reinstalled and I still get them.
Do you like the new effects? Heck yeah! But sometimes the weapons look like the original GalCiv2 weapons when fighting ships. They look better when fighting starbases. But after I posted this topic they started looking similar in both. I must be going crazy. As far as posts I think are dissappearing, one post I did was about the battle viewer fre
