I am on XP which does not have this issue, I think it seems that some of the colors are used differently in Vista than XP. Hopefully someone on Vista will be able to help. Looking in SkinStudio at the colors used the only dead white is the window background, I am not sure based on the other colors used where it is calling the white text from. I have even applied the Vista version on XP and with all explorer views I am getting proper text colors and highlight. The grey highlight in your pic is
What OS are you using it on, on XP the text when in folder view is a orange/red color, if for the Vista the same text color setting is used it is set to the same color. try reappling the skin, sometimes they just need a little kick, if you still have same problem post a screenshot so we can see exact text issue.

Your dates look good. Did you have a trial version installed before installing full version. If so did you uninstall it before installing full. It is also good after uninstall to run something like CCleaner. There was a one point a bug where with some apps like FF, the titlebar would not skin but resizing the window by min/max would correct it, I however have not seen this with WB7.

I am on XP SP3, for me the grapics icons, bitmap, jpeg etc are displayed as one of the Windows default, I believe that this is because all of those file types are associated with Paint Shop Pro X2, which is something most if not all icon sets have no icon for thus use default MS.

Have you tried what jazzymjr said in comment 1, the text margins control where in button icon is, you can even set margins negative to get button as small as icon, do the same for the taskbar buttons.
