It's possible, but don't forget that these people are tekies, more intrested in customizing their comp than the average user. And didn't you say that they had never heard of WB before? How do we expect the masses to find out about WB's existance? I'm talking about the masses here, who have even never heard about Winzip... but as Brad said, we'll know soon.

Cygnus, nothing is changed for us, you, me, and the whole gang here. You have an account since I can read you on this msgboard and see your name at the bottom of your post. Anonymous downloads won't be allowed in peak times, that's all it meens, and that's good, IMO. Forgboy, Alex, I understand that the average user doesn't know about XP (although they are gettnig to hear about it more and more...), just like very very little people in the computer industry knows what a "skin" is. My po
I agree with the account thing. Good move. But I don't understand either how WinXP will bring more people to the site. Is there going to be a link from say the "Display Properties" panel that would read "For more Windows themes, visit Wincustomize.com."? People can already change their skins with Windowblinds, I don't see how that will be different with WindowblindsXP... Cause unless there is a place within Windows that lets people know about WB and/or this site, people will have n
bananafactor: DesktopX was just released, and is featured on a lot of sites. I suspect that brought a lot of new users here. Brad: you may want to ask your webmaster to correct that typo on Stardock's Windowblinds section: The title of the message reads: "Stardock/Windowbliinds Library" (two i's in Windowblinds).
Oops! Just saw that there's another thread about the same thing. Sorry. By gones!
Hehehe, and got this one when trying Stardock's site (yes, with the typo, hehe): Stardock/Windowbliinds Library If you are receiving this message, the Stardock library has exceeded 1000 connected users. Please visit www.wincustomize.com for your skin, icon, theme, object needs. We apologize for the inconvenience. Message boards and other areas are up. . Please check back in about 10 minutes. Busy night, huh? It's ok. Time for bed anyway. Catch yal
Just got this error when trynig to access DesktopX section. I guess the fianl version brought a lot of people here today: WinCustomize.com Library Maximum connections exceeded. Please try back in a few minutes. Please check back later as we will have the library back on line shortly.
Looks like a nicely done movie, according to the previews I saw. Never played the games though. On a side note, I'm a Tomb Raider fan, and I kinda want to see the movie, but I don't dare. Any TR fan saw it?
Subscription web sites will never work. I am totallty conviced of this. All the sites that have tried so far have failed and closed down. The day web sites will start charging fees, a lot of people starting with me will simply diconnect from the Net, for good. Of course, there will always be the odd web site that will try to charge for subscriptions, as others have tried. Some people might even be stupid enough, or rich enough, to go for it. But like Cygnus, I pay 50$ for my Internet
Well, well, it's a shame, isn't it? If you want to fight it: go over the poorly rated skins, and if you feel they deserve more, rate it yourself a 10 or so, so it may boost its score a little.
Grrrr!! Here it is again without the http stuff: www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sircam.worm @ mm.html (again, remove the spaces before and after the at sign)
Heck and the link too isn't right... Here it is again: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sircam.worm @ mm.html (without the spaces before and after the at sign)
The name of the virus was interpreted as an email address by the script in the messageboard... OK the name of the virus is W32.Sircam.Worm @ mm (without the spaces.)
Russ, and eveybody, Norton detects it, but make sure you have just updated your file definitions. Norton tells me it's the W32.Sircam.Worm@mm virus. Read what Norton says about it: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]
Brad, don't take it that way. Nobody is attacking anything. You raised an idea, and we give our opinion about that idea. If LOS's admins posted an idea for a feature on the forum, they as well would get different responses. No need to take it so personal Brad, please. I haven't read anybody attack you, and as far as I can tell, the topic was always adressed in a very gentemanly fashion by everybody and nobody brought the debate on a personal level (except maybe for Frank's post). We are
Well, I personnally do not agree with Jafo's ppint because I personnaly think all Winamp skins look the same, no matter how hard the artists try to make it look different. Always the same layout, always the same functions. Winamp is a good player, and I use it. But I never downlod any Winamp skin. I use the plain default look, because I can't see why bother, they're all the same.
Same in IE.
Brad, the fact that one site has a system doesn't make it good. I for one would tend to believe some people write comments, post on the message board and upload some skins just to get more points. And secondly, it isn't true that LOS uses that system. The system in place at LOS doesn't delete comments and posts. It is actually quite different than what you are suggesting. You are suggesting to give points to the person who starts a thread that gets a lot of responses... Well, I think if
I'm not boycotting it, I'm just waiting for a final version. Then I'll give the software a real trial, and I'll look and see if I would like to skin it. But I don't lose my time on alpha/beta software.
Sure, I for one would like to know the real differences between 2k and XP. So far I read nothing to encite me. But please stay away from MS propaganda and truely give the pros and cons.
Well. OK, don't know what I'm doing wrong but I think I found a bug :/
hum, problem with the email bit. Once more time: [email protected] <-- that should be an email link.
Lets try this again... OK, then I too have to test this http://www.gslcom.com . If you have something against that, then just [email protected] me your thoughts.
