I checked out DA this morning, hadn't been there in a while. They are definitely on the slow side. It seems however they are giving a P2P client, Red Swoosh, a try. It should be interesting to see how that works out. I couldn't find a whole lot of details on exactly how it functions, but it seems to initiate file sharing between users if there is a badwidth advantage...

Ringhawk, 1) DX is a application that enhances your current windows shell. It loads like any program at start-up. Therefore there will be a few seconds where what is "underneath" will be visible. 2) Absolutely, they work very well together. The problem most likely is your computer's available resources. To get more in depth here you would need to post your computer specs; OS, RAM, graphics board, etc... Hope this helps. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/
The simple answer is no, it does not use "a lot". But everything is relative. On my system Zonealarm sucks up a bit more memory than windowblinds! You have to take into acccount your OS, RAM, Video card and its RAM, the particular skin you are loading, how your computer handles resources, etc... Just give it a try, paly with it and have fun.
I know quite a few Kiwi's and the only thing I find surprising here is the Guinness! I would think for sure there would be some Waikato or KGB in there somewhere...
Lifted from Webster's dictionary. Seems appropriate to me. 1 : extending indefinitely : ENDLESS 2 : immeasurably or inconceivably great or extensive : INEXHAUSTIBLE 3 : subject to no limitation or external determination 4 a : extending beyond, lying beyond, or being greater than any preassigned finite value however large b : extending to infinity c : characterized by an infinite num
I've been thinking about the bandwidth issue on this site for some time. This site is slow, but that is understandable considering the resources it has to work with. I understand the idea behind selling items such as t-shirts and the like to generate more income to provide for bandwidth. However it seems there are so many users that it couldn't possibly keep pace. Where will the bandwidth come from? Why not let it come from the users themselves! What I am talking about is using a P2P networ
Sure: http://www3.corel.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=Corel/Product/Details&id=CC1M72VRBAC I would suggest the "Try it" on the page. It's a bit on the expensive side. No need to waste that much money (3 beans) if it's not something your going to be happy with! They give you 30 days. I've never had a problem with IE6, but I did come in here once on Netscape 6.1 and there was text all over the place... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/sm
I gave him a link to Corels site. I thought he was looking for something to create wallpapers with. No idea what happened after that.....

Brad, Very nice skin, thanks for the post. I have a question about the link though. How did you get a link that long to work correctly. Every time I try to post a link longer than the message box it gets clipped when I submit!
The reason we no longer fear the Japanese, Germans or for that matter Iraqi's as a threat is that America defeated them militarily. America also still to this day maintains and controls the miltary forces in those countries. The important thing to remember here Doreen is that people are in danger either way. If you do nothing then your children might be in the next building that explodes. At least by taking action we control our own destiny....... War in this case is silly because there

Peering into my completely "unoffical" crystal ball, What is that I see... No it couldn't be... Maybe it is... a Fall 2001 Edition WC CD, complete with never before released skins... Hmm where is my wallet
Alex, I have a similar set up and do not have persistant problems. The problems I have had are usually due to some program being skinned that doesn't want to be skinned. If you notice something in particular that is loading at the time of the crash or you get a dialogue box that gives you any clues it would be very helpful. You can create rules and tell Windowblinds not to skin a particular program. If you are certain you are running out of resources, which seems strange at 256K, check
