First off, I want to say how nice the new Tech Tree looks and feels. Much improved from Beta 2! The one adjustment I would like to see is the ability to navigate around in the "tree" area, so I can look ahead at upcoming techs. I want to know what prerequisites there are before I can get my Advanced Plasma Cannon tech! Right now, I can only seem to center the tree on tech

I felt like it was giving me half the tech tree, I wanted to stop picking techs! What annoyed me was that CTD bug when I went to save my race after picking them all. D'oh!
When I used the mouse wheel to zoom out on the main map, I got a Crash to Desktop. This was at the very beginning of the game when only my 2 starting ships were showing.
That is a ton of points to spend on techs! Was that number a mistake? Why don't the standard races get any starting techs?
Need I say more?
I think I'm behind a firewall. SDC chat won't connect!
You could always Check for Application Updates obsessive compulsively. Baby, I've been there for the last half hour!
It's up now. Are you sure? My Stardock Central is not picking up any new versions.
Gah, don't even say stuff like that, people will believe it. haha! I assumed that everyone would have a sense of humor, but you're probably right. And sarcasm does not translate well as text.
Are you sure? I heard a rumor that the lead developer quit this afternoon and the Beta is now delayed indefinitely!
ftw = For The Win ? I know what wtf means
Darn, seems like I have to go to sleep, and wait 18 hours more, till I get a chance to take a look at the 3rd beta.. Get a real time zone! (just kidding)
In what timezone is the Stardock office located? Eastern or Central? Please don't say Pacific! I'm just itching to try the new Beta. (ok, maybe I got the itch some other way, but I'm going to blame it on the Beta) - Proud Canadian
There will be a full-screen mode for fleet combat, but for ship-on-ship most people (myself included) would quickly get annoyed of such a feature. Definitely!
I think that the existing "Logistics" rating was supposed to determine how big your fleets can grow. I believe that's what Stardock said in their original plan for GC2.
Favorite Sci-Fi is the new Battlestar Galactica. I really like the new BSG series. It has MUCH better writing than the old 70's version. I'm not religious myself, but I like the whole religious side-story that they are developing with most of the main characters (including the bad guys) that have connections to anci
Hey Wyrm, Maybe you should see if Stardock wants help writing the text descriptions for Technology advances. I liked the ones in GalCiv 1 where the tech advance had a tiny story that went along with the description of what the tech gives you. - Proud Canadian
The research screen in Beta 2 really sucks. I read something on the forums about a month back that showed screenshots of a redesigned research screen. I can't remember where I saw it or I would put a link here. I think it may have been one of Brad Wardell's posts. Don't feel stupid jmgarth, I've seen at least a half-dozen posts from other people who got confused by the exact same feature.
Excellent post KBV! I am a computer game addict. It is REALLY hard to not play. I got into the original Ultima Online when it was the first MMORPG on the market. I called in sick for work some days because I played UO until 5am or later. In the end, I had a moment of clarity and gave the game account away to someone and asked them to destroy the account if they didn't like the game - I didn't want it back. I can never allow myself to play another
If all embassadors were replaced with androids, the issue would just go away.....hmmm... Human Ambassador: "I am C3P0. I am ever so pleased to make your acquaintance!" Antaran Leader: "I didn't know androids could be gay. Is it just me, or is this android totally homosexual?" Antaran Aide: *SHRUGS* Antar
now im happy i bought the sewt that includes Half-Life Source, Half Life 2 and counter strike now since if HL2 sucks all to *** I can at least play Source Remember that this post was just one person's opinion. I thought the Half-Life 2 single player game was pretty good, but like I said above, I bought the game for Co
Offer the insects some really tasty treats that the whole hive can share. They will be poisoned, of course, and the workers will take it right back to the Queen. Even better, make it a slow-acting poison that makes all who consume it unable to reproduce! I'm sorry. That's horrible. No one would ever create such a diabolical bio-weapon to kill insects. - Proud Ca
Maybe there could be a max% that you can put into any one area? That max level may be increased by getting tech advances? I'm not even sure why I'm commenting on this one. I'm happy with the funding system as it was in GC1. If it doesn't change at all in GC2, I'd be totally satisfied.
I just bought it for Counter-Strike: Source. I considered the Half-Life 2 single-player game to be a "bonus". I was a big CS 1.4 fan, but wanted to play it on a modern engine. I can't wait for mods to come out for the HL 2 engine. Heck, I'm still playing Natural Selection (a mod for HL1). My biggest disappointment lately was Doom 3. What a boring, repetitive piece of sh*t! I mean, really, how many times do I have to walk into a dark room and be "surprised" b
As ist is now (in GC1), it's a very rough version of the "know all" system. You can get knowledge about the other races by just having a look at the trade lists and your own tech list. It's not hidden information, it might as well be shown in a nice and friendly way. Yes, that was my point exactly. If the information
