I searced this forum about Galciv in Widescreen and got the answer that Galciv does not support it. But will it ever be possible to easily support widescreen in it or will it require an major rewrite of the graphic engine???
GaalCiv II should be able to support widescreen, they say it will support any resolution, etc.
Carielf I sent you an e-mail asking for my 2 accounts to be merged under mayito8888. I will apprecciate if you can do this for me, thanks. Also please could you check if I have a 3rd account under Mayito888 and if I do can you also merge that one with Mayito8888. Thanks
I too have emailed you to merge my two accounts, Weyrleader and PassingBye into Weyrleader.
Is there anything that you do differently when changing your name, as apposed to setting up a 2nd player. I thought it was the same procedure.
It is the same procedure. Register a new email address with your player name and choose a nickname. What is not currently done that CariElf alludes to is blocking of posting by the first character.
It IS interesting that CariElf picked up on it though, and as I said in an earlier post, it's probably better we talk about it NOW and iron any hiccups out - if only we could do so calmly and without heat.
I wasn't concerned about your post, WW. You asked a good question in good faith. CariElf reponded to a particular complaint from JT Querk that people were inflating their empire scores. I deflated mine when I started my new character to cause a recalc. I could have

I find it intesting that all of a sudden there is an interest in eliminating anyting that might "inflate" empire scores. The long standing bug of non-recal never caused a ripple in the Startdock world and that inflated empire accounts more than anything the dual or multiple personalities would do. If the game is really that importnat (the game being the metaverse) that the only focus is on the score and not on the fun that people get out of playing with multiple personalities, then it is proab
And just to make sure. What the problem did you mantion about the deluxe edition, Walldorf2000?
The SN for AP and GC are reversed in the Delus edition,i.e., the one for AP is really the one for GC and the one for GC is really the one for AP

Actually, I formed PassingBye as Peace indicated and then decided to keep it so I could have a black shield and see how fast I could climb back to where I was. I purposefully submitted a game to Weyrleader from time to time so that he would not stagnate without a recalc. Now that recalc is standard, I am playing both. I have asked CariElf to do a reverse split for me and I think she will after the first Beta comes out on GCII and she has some time. With a recalc and now no holes in the combi
I'm also pleased to see that what i was fearing hasn't happened.. ( ppl saying that its not fair... and whats happewned to their scores) It speaks volumes about the maturiry of the GalCiv community
I suspect most of the people whose scores are degrading (I need to look closer, but I have not seen on yet) are not even around to complain, much less care.
nother thing that doesn't work here: when you open a thread that you've read before it doesn't scroll down to the first unread post. It works in the GC2 forum. Whatever you did there, do that here
It works for me, here. Any thread I have read, even if loging on from a different computer, when I open that thread it goes to the last message read.
I have never used influence but I am interested in knowing how it affects your game. My only guess would be that it helps to keep your planents from flipping and may help you flip others?
The higher your influence, the more the AIs will give you things for free. When you are the highest influencer in the game, I have had AI give me Dreadnaught Tech and related war techs that they will not trade for.
The cntr-n, cntr-u trick is cheese
If you don't like that particular cheese, just open the trading window where you can see your trade routes or all trade routes, and you can see that the AI are colored in faintly in that graphic. You can also see the minors as well.
Local production increase?Trade-increasing?Culture boost?Or do you only grab resources and use them to extend range?
Yes to all the above. Use constructors to build star bases and levels in the starbase for production, etc. Also use them to grap resourse.

Ok, let's start from scratch. Boot up the game and you get the top level menu, a circle with squares positioned around it. Click on the Play game square. Then comes the video, if you have it turned on. Then you get the menu with boxes lined up vertically, click on Start new Civilization. The next screen is the one you want. the screen is divided into two pieces, left and right. In the right pane at the bottom it says "winning conditions" Select the condition you want. Default

I play with the standard defaults of 2 pure evil, 2 pure good, one chaotic evil, one chaotic good, and one neutral. If the pure good get lots of planets, they are harder to ally with then the pure evil. I play neutral to pure good.
Hey heres a question for ya: Is there a limit to how many modules a SB can have? I mean besides that UP thing limiting them.
Yes, you can build all the levels and then you can't build any more. New mods can add more levels, but they have to be defined. Is there a limit to the level a mod can create? I don't know that answer to that question.
Oh, more presents
You get this response when you try to give them something too soon after the previous gift. You have to wait 3 monhts after you gift them to gift them again or you will get the message above (unless you are friendly and then they will usually take something anytime you want to give it to them)

If the Drengin won't go to war with the Yor, bribe the Yor to go to war with the Drengin. Doesn't really matter who starts it, the result is the same.
We prefer cheese. You start game. Save game. enble cheats take a look. load save
What isn't said here is that when you reload, the cheat button is turn off, so cheats are not used during the playing of the game, only to get a peak at it before you start. There apparenly is a way to do this without going through this process, but it is a tightly held secret by those who know how to do it.
