MediaJukebox, MusicMatch, WMP, and Winamp3 will maintian a library for you: Artist1 __Album1 __Album2 Artist2 __Album1 __Album2 based on the mp3/wma file tags From which you can create playlists. I don't think I could deal with one gigantic playlist for all those CDs
I'm in the process of ripping my CD collection (so far about 900 CDs of probably 1500-2000 I've accumulated over the past 16 years) Media jukebox just seems faster. It uses a standard tree view on the left and list view on the right (and supports all sorts of organzations and custom layout schemas). Navigating through the collection is a snap. Media Jukebox. It's the only thing that can efficiently handle the number of files I've got. Both MusicMatch and WMP9 seem to get really slow and pokey when used with a huge music library.
If it's a .xptheme that physically contains themes you do. If it's a .suite file that just lists skins and contains the URLs where the can be downloaded you do not. However, for the sake of clarity and courtesy, if you're .suite is for a given known suite by an another author (say the Pixtudio suite) and not just a grag bag of different skins, I think it's a good idea to get the author's permission or at least give it a unique name "Bob's Collection of Pixtudio skins") That way

Iconpackager does indeed work with W2K. However as you've seen, icons specifically made to take advantage of XP don't display nicely on W2k. This is unfortunately a limitation with W2k not a problem with iconpackager

This problem crops up from time to time when downloading and installing a WBA (windowblinds) skin. Instead of left-clicking the link, which downloads an installs the skin, try right clicking the link and save the skin to a directory on your harddrive. Then, go to the directory you downloaded the skin file to, and double click it to install it.
Shmoopy, I'm sorry to hear that. Don't feel bad. Unfortunately some people are callous and intentially hurtful. I'll never understand why. In the future perhaps you can email a mod/admin to take care of the abusive comment for you so you won't have to take it down.

Your argument is flawed. The problem is that you are not differentiating between the skins themselves and the separate issue of hosting them. The subscriptions go to support the site (bandwidth, hardware, maintenance), not to charge for skins. Without resources such as subscriptions being rolled back into the site, the site will be unable to keep pace with the ever increasing number of traffic it sees and for all intensive purposes, eventually grind to a halt.
Here we go again. 1. This site is very popular and sees lots of traffic. Everytime Stardock beefs up the site to handle the load, ineveitablly traffic catches up to it. 2. This site does not require money to acess. There is a download cap of I think 150 megs for folks who do nothing but show up and download. 3. Participating in this site (commenting of skins, participating in the message boards, news discussions) ultimately lifts the download cap. You don't have to buy
