I don't know what a .sd file is. There's probably a readme file in the zip file telling which skin goes to which app. For instance, there's probably a .wba file in there which is a WindowBlinds skin. In which case, you'd need the WindowsBlinds program installed on your computer to use it.

IIRC aren't they each all zipped up into a big zip file? You'll need the appropriate skinnable apps to use them (WindowBlinds, Winamp, NextStart, DesktopX, HoverDesk and so on, depending on what apps you want to use on your desktop)

Hmmm Looks nice, though moving it in regular mode while WB is running results in the it decreasing in size. As for the player itself, I imported 700 ripped CDs a it feels a bit slow. Seems to be okay for moderate sized music collections, but for the size I'm using (and am continuing to add as I work my way through my CD collection) it falls short of what I hoped in management and editing my collection. I'll still stick with Media Jukebox for now. Voo's right though. The best th

DesktopX IS a program. Its used to add things to your desktop: things as simple as a some animated objects to as sophsticated as a completely different looking desktop. The DesktopX themes and Objects can only be used by DesktopX. There is a shareware version of DesktopX to try out but I don't know its limitations compared to the full version. DesktopX is one of several desktop enhancers/shells. Others include HoverDesk, Winstep, Ashton, Talisman. They are all commerical produc

First time I've ever seen that site. And it looks like they have permissions from the skin authors. They even display the various permissions on a page: http://www.mmjbskins.com/permits.html Actually its kind of nice since mmjb is terrible about hosting/creating skins. Weird though, I see skins I've never seen before and some that I would think that would be there but are not (Graypony's Ferix port for instance).

Faramir seems to be the big sticking point with people familiar with the books. I doubt Eowyn ends up with Aragorn. He better not! I wonder though if they'll include anything of the Faramir/Eowyn relationship though. The reason I says this, is that they have so much to cover in the next film that I'm a afraid of what's going to get left out.

Graypony has been doing some nice ports over at dev art. His port of Essorant's Frelix is really nice. Here's the musicmatch section over at DA http://www.deviantart.com/thumbnails.php?section=mmjb6 Additionally, jebland is working on a nice Siderado MM skin

Well I for one have no problem with the changes. Arwens' role really needed to be beefed up (other than the 10 pages in the appendex of ROTK) and Tolkien admitted that at one time. Her and Aragorn's relationship mirrors Beren and Luthien's in the Sil. In the books even though she's really not in FOTR or TTT, she sort of comes out of nowhere in ROTK and marries Aragorn. If they did this in the movie without any previous Arwen/Aragorn interaction, then the audience has no emotional invest

In NS 2.8 (and NS 3.0 if you want) tasks are represented as task tiles that grow in a particular direction (left to right, or top to bottom). These tiles can be 16x16 or 32x32 or 48x48. Task tiles can have no backgrounds (and just be icons), have task tiles, and (with NS 3.0 and if the theme supports NS 3.0) be placed on a Start Bar. YOu can change this however you want by going into NexStart Preferences and going to the TaskList and Systray Preferences tab. I've been using Aqu

There IS a set limit. It's 100 megs of stuff. A few ways to alleviate the 100 meg limit. 1. Participate on wincustomize by hanging out on the boards and helping folks out. Comment on various skins. 2. Get a wincustomize subscription (20 bucks for 2 years) 3. Purchase a stardock product (Windowblinds, DesktopX, Object Desktop...) If you're getting dissed in the downloads and you haven't downloaded 100 megs of stuff, then something's not right. In which case, I

Your ss shows WorkShelf. I don't see NextStart in it (unless it's hidden). Here's a tutorial for NextStart menus and hotspots. http://www.winstep.net/help/tutorial/intro.html It was written for NextStart 2.8. In NexStart 3.0, the configuration windows have been reorganized to be a bit cleaner (skin-related stuff that was in top level configuration windows have been moved to their own sub configuration windows). However, the stuff that the tutorial covers shouldn't have

There's a configuration setting that tells WB to skin the XP start menu and taskbar. I don't what it is however. Maybe if you looked at the Settings section of the WindowBlinds configuration window? (Press the WindowBlinds button in the Appearances tab of your Windows Display Properties).

Well, I saw it today. Truly amazing. I'm still attached more to FOTR than TTT, but I've seen FOTR several times and it was always my favorite of the 3 books. That said, I'm seeing TTT again on Monday. I suspect I'll like it even more on 2nd viewing. I think the thing with these movies, is that for me to truly enjoy them, I have to seem more than once. The first time to get over the annoying book/movie comparisons that goes on in the back of my mind as I watch the movie. The 2nd time aro

Assmuming WindowBlinds is installed, double-clicking the wba file should install the skin (it unzips it and puts it in the windowblinds folder). Alternatively, within you windows display properties, from the appearance/skins tab, select the add button and browse to the .wba file to install it that way.
