The original post has a certain amount of irony to it. He accuses the admins/hosts of being morons, yet the logic of his post is moronic because it implies that the admins prefer to keep the site overly busy and overtaxed and that they're not intrested (or too stupid) in making the site more efficient. Why is it that when such people post such things, they never bother to think things through logically? ...sigh... Den Beste said it best with the old engineering axiom "nothing

It does work with WB since its a complete dialog replacement (as opposed to adding extra title bar buttons which get covered up by WB). So far it's pretty cool. A bit overwhelming at first by the size of it and the options on it but so far it's pretty useful. I like how you can specify favorite folders and favorite files and specify them either globally for all apps, or only applicable for specific apps. So far I'm really liking it. I may register it.
Thanks for the lin,k Terry. The standard windows open-save dialog has always been a sore point with me. I'll give this a go.
Each library section that you see on the left side of this web page contains skins for a particular application. For instance, the DesktopX section has skins/themes that are only useable by the DesktopX program. On each library section webpage, you'll find, near the top of the webpage, links to find out more information about the application for that category. If you downloaded the MIIG theme that's currently featured on the frontpage then, you'll need Winstep ( http://www.win
Pulu See Pagoomba!
I forget who did that, but its a DesktopX theme. Its definitely on this site in the DesktopX section of the library. You'll have to wade through allot of stuff to find it unless someone remembers the author's name or the title. You can probably reduce the amount of DesktopX stuff that you'll have to browse by selecting the Theme checkbox on the desktopX library browsing page.
That error often happens when you click the link to the skin to automatically download and install it. Right click the link, save the wba file to disk. then double click the file to install it from disk.
If you're Al, then I'm Peg.
Okay let me add to the love-fest. I originally poo-poo'ed systemmeter-type apps. Well I take it all back. This thing is neat and really flexible. Cool beans, Nick!
Also take a look at sysinternal's free tools. specifically http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/tcpview.shtml and http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/tdimon.shtml
IMO, its worth the upgrade, give it a shot. NS3 addresses some of the things I've wanted in NS for a long time. I've been wanting text effects. Yeah! The enhanced task support for grouping/sorting/text is another big thing for me. The other thing is the start/quicklaunch bar. Just having task tiles was okay, but I prefer being able to have everything enapsulated in a manageable bar. And having the whole thing adjust when the systray is expanded/collaspsed is nice. It u
The fan backlash has been much greater than the SciFi Channel had expected. So far CNN has covered the topic 4 times. There was a rally in NYC and one in Atlanta. There's another one tomorrow in NYC in responseot the meeting the powers that be at the network willing be having there to discuss the issue. Its actually had some effect so far. They've halted the plan to tear down the sets and there seems to be more dialog between the network and the shows creators. Many of
Actually, I remember a few months back there was another fellow who also capitalied every word. Quiite an achievenment, I might add.
If you get this error when you click the the link to download and install the skin, try this. right-click it and save the skin file to some directory on your computer. Then got to that directory and double-click the file. It should install. If the file is a zip file, change its extension to .wba, then double-click it.
I hope this doesn't mean Jafo will feel unwanted.
I have Windowblinds perform a rollup when I right click the titlebar. Rollup is an extremely useful ability to quickly get access to under the current window without having to go the trouble of minimizing and restoring the window as you would normally do. On-top is also useful, but I don't use it nearly as much as roll-up.
You mean this? https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?authorid=98941 Look at the last wallpaper on that page called Black Spring
I think Frogboy means the skin in the first screenshot. The skin in the second screenshot is called Cartoon.
I would just like to add, re: last night's game. YEAH PATS!!!!!
No need to feel guilty or apologize for anything, Grayhaze. You don't owe anybody anything. It's we who should be thanking you for sharing your work with us. Do you what you enjoy! I'll miss your skins work, but look forward to your photo work
Ummmm...Go Pats!
Please Please Please post Hippy's skins, maybe as a special "Hippy's House of Horror" section on WC.
Randy, try deleting the wincustomize cookie from your cookies folder on your computer. Then start up the browser again, relogin to wincustomize, and then see if you can download.
Me five!
Actually after playing with this for the past day or so, I have to say it's pretty useful. I just registered it. It'd be nice if it had a couple of other features though. For instance if your sticker is set to be always on top, then when you hit Alt-S to bring its up as expected. If the sticker is not set to always on top then when you hit Alt-S the stickers are placed directly on the desktop under your other windows. Be nice if there was a third option: bring to foreground but not alwa
