That would be very nice. XML is supposed to be the next step for the internet. Now if they come up with a standard for file transmition (as in how the data will be stored in the database as well as sent) then we will be cooking with oil.

I'm wondering what kind of system you have? And drivers? I haven't had any major problems with the programs.Just minor bugs that tend to be forgivable. I just started emailing them because I want the system to be more stable. You should keep emailing them about what is going on with the product. I am personally looking foward to Version 5 of WindowBlinds, DesktopX 3, Icon Packager 3, CursorXP 2, Object Bar 4, WindowsFX 4. I do not know what will be on it but at the rate they are going i

What is the extent of the DX script? Can I open a eplorer window in a certain location at a certain size? If I wanted to write a script that accesses a on line database for a compant that wants a DX for thier workers or subscribers, can it be done? Is the script javascript based? C++, Visual Basic?? IF I TYPE LIKE THIS AM I SHOUTING!!!! ------ thoughts??

speaking of bloging, is it possible to write a DX script for it to connect to the wincust database (if allowed)? I think the blogging idea as apart of wincustomize (as well as the GUI league and other associations) could be part of the subscritpion. Or a plus subscription. Talk about talking!!! hey DX scripting... hmmm that could be a new thread. let me get on that.

IMHO (in my honest opinion) try to avoid subject line "THIS PAGE SUCKS". you will tend to get rude answers. feel free to post more (without the eye catching 'SUCKS') feel free to use a post subject like "HEY" or "Why are you....." Something that sounds juicy or is eye catching but more subtital.

Wow!!! Jafo has some real acranim skils GUIDIND HANDS sound really cool. Or even the GUILT one would be nice and maybe more excepted by others who refuse or do not like the idea too much. "Have you joined GUILT?" "No, I think it is to 'nose in the sky" for mmy tastes." "But they help you in many ways and if you want to start a business, it gives you a starting point and something to show the clients that there is a pricing standard for work." "I can do that on

besides, as exciting and riviting windows customization is (I like it allot), it would be too self absorbed to focus only on customization. I do believe that there are some articals posted on the subject of customization, just not resently. lets see what is happening around the world and pull our heads out of the sand. sure you can read acticals in the newpaper but what would your fellow customizers think about the artical?? important news should be shared.

27 Replies 7,685 Views

no. I think it is fine that people can upload new reports that aren't about windowblinds or other programs. when I up load, I tend to focus on science and technology (Like the Broadband artical). Althought I have to admit I try to focus on stuffs that affect the electronic, multimedia world and tends to be within the realm of this site. I probably would not post a story about the criminal justice system or education (Unless the story was really juicy)

Couldn't we be concidered "elitists" any way? How many people are part of the site and then how many actually interact with it? And the GUI League would be a sort of stepping stone, not a us or nothing. Gust to give giude lines for artists, designers, skinners, onlookers and newbees. Also if someone wanted to refer to it because they are really getting it to skinning, then it is possible, like conduct or copy rights. I was thinking there would even be room for those to totally ignore it.

I really do not like the trail versions mostly because it does not have the features. I had the trail version of windowBlinds and I am glad I went ahead and bought it anyway because the trail version was not as advanced. But I have to admit that paxx is right about look and feel it out. BTW: I was one of those who just bought 1 program (WindowBlinds) because I thought the others were not really that interesting. Then, I think a month later I ened up upgrading to Object Desktop. Eve

I read about this topic on other threads, so what is the answer offically when it comes to screen shots and winstlyes? Screen shots might not be a problem but winstlye sure could be a major one. I also noticed that not al winstyles are links to artist work. It would sem that winstlyes collects the work from your computer when your saving it. Why esle would it be 2 megabytes?? As far as Apple or Microsoft icons or whatever, I think Frogboy made a major post on rights and legal s

Wow, that's nice of you. Good or bad keep the comments coming. tell all your friends!!!! By the Way: you stumbled on to the site too? I can even remember how I found this site.

I was wondering about the drivers. I downloaded windowsFX 2.0 and to my suprise it did not work to well. I could see the stabibilty was better (way better) but I couldn't use so many features that I just took it of my computer. I looked at what was going on and found that it was the drivers. As new as my computer is, my drivers can not support 2.0. 1.0 atually work better!! I tried to download new drivers but I couldn;t find it. Not even the site that made it for my computer!! I am not

It could be like the wincustomise subscription. It could also set standards (or help set standards so we can break them) for how it is put together. Like a GUI language. It would also help so that design "firms" do nt under bid each other to a degree that your basically giving it away. Like for exaple, now siute with 10 programs can be commisioned under 12,000. those who brake the rule a most likely scrubs or silly because they could have gotten more out of there work then what they asked for.<b

If your asking us (and you obviously are) then yes. I think use users might be bias so I will try to give you a honest opinion It rocks!!! Hard!! There are a few bugs that I have noticed after using it for over 3 months. Not all of the features work (but who needs them?) For a program in its first stage of evolution, it is pretty damn good. It is so good that I have many plans for it in the future as far as design. I want to show my alumnus the program so maybe they wi

ahh... whoops. this was something I thought would be a good idea. I know there are not allot of professional skinners or companies out there but I have always felt that other design associations started on the wrong foot. Architecture, engineering, interior design etc, have there problems and no real standard and are not as powerful as they could be. Just wanted other peoples opinions on the idea.

hmmmmmmmmmm........ I think the trial version has some bugs in it. I too had some problems with it as far as some "blinds" not working with some applications. Also, I am not sure about MS.NET. If that is a specific program then you might have to exclude it from windowblinds "skinning" it. I am not sure if the trial version has that feature. There are developers here. A few of them. But I do not know what they devolope. BTW What exactly happend when windowb
