Not really - all that happens is the route get established earlier - turn 1 income for the route just happens sooner - that's the "more money", not that the route is worth more.

Enjoy the vacation! To Texas from Upper Michigan - talk about wanting to bake the winter out of your bones...
In my experience multiple morale improvements DO stack for the planet -
forums (fora, if you want I believe the proper form would be "fori" Le
The Orbital Mgr limits you to the cuurent logistics limit, so if you have a bunch of ships in orbit, you may have multiple fleets. If you take tiny hulls [logistic=2], fit them with some weapons and a shield (no engines) [a nanoripper and shield comes to mind] then you will have 'fleets' that will seriously defend you and probably survive repeated initial assaults. Then take out the infidels for their temerity (since whoever is left is right next doo
I would love to see capitals destroyed, Why? 2 planets with the bonus is better than 1.
Extremely serious Diplomatic sanctions and consequences could have been levied against any player (and after all the A.I could do it too) who practised genocide Like maybe all other civs allying against you and declaring war? Oh - wait .... that's an alliance LOSS isn't it?
Frankly, the business about perceived trespassers could be handled with the ability to send a message to the offending AI similar to the "I know what you're doing" message and the AI could then decide what to do about your arrogance. The messages would have to be pre-determined (via a dropdown box, perhaps) because of the wildly varying use of grammer and word choice that the AI would have to interpret. [You would need a Universal Translator for REAL
Also don't forget the darn things had a max movement rate of 1 parsec/month. I found them less than useful except for a 1 time shot - send the constructor fleet and build it on the spot (assuming they don't die on the way....) I would suspect that if you had the tech to build one, the AI would have to be VERY sensitive to a bunch of constructors heading its way - to the point of it launching a pre-emptive strike against them. <img src=
Kinda depends on how dense you like your reading - I tried to keep the list to (IMHO) engaging/absorbing but still relatively quick reading (sorry, Frank Herbert/Dune, Greg Bear) and also to Sci-Fi (as opposed to Fantasy; sorry, Piers Anthony/Xanth, Christopher Stasheff/Warlock series) Mentioned above & recommended Asimov - Just about anything Dan Simmons - Hyperion series Orson Scott Card - again, just about anything, b
"Emperor Iso, this is the reason we're the Iconian Refuge." As opposed to the Iconian RESORT?
But maybe it's more a case of people deciding they want you to like them so you'll hit somebody else... Slightly off topic, but remember the quote about the meek inheriting the earth? Turns out that the original meaning of the word meek derives from isn't "wimp" - it's "strength with restraint" .....
1. One of the buttons on the middle row will set the minimap to show what you have explored - NOT what is currently in sensor range. 2. Frankly, I find the minimap to be too small to be of more use than to: a. See the various influence zones b. Check which planets are worth sending freighters to c. See the range that the selected ship can get to ( and to send a ship "out there", detailed orders to follow
My Spell Checker Eye halve a spelling chequer. It came with my pea sea. It plainly marques for my revue Miss steaks eye kin knot sea. Eye strike a key and type a word And weight four it two say Weather eye am wrong oar write. It shows me strait a weigh. As soon as a mist ache is maid, It nose bee fore two long, And eye can put the error rite. It's rarely ever wrong. Eye have run this poem threw it. I am shore
If the map area is clear, you have sensor coverage - if it's translucent, it's explored but not currently under observation - if it'sgray'ed out, you haven't explored it yet. Now if you are talking about figuring out if YOU can be seen by another player, that's something you have to track for yourself....
I voted to have the prison in my territory... figured it was bad when the other 2 races voted that I have it aswell... LOL 1st prize - 1 week in Baghdad 2nd prize - 2 weeks in Baghdad
What's new in 1.0X(.1) + NOTE: Your ship designs from 1.0D1 and before will NOT show up in this version. We have updated this version so that the ships contain their own unique version ID so that when we do FUTURE updates, your ships will still work. But we didn't implement this until now (now that we have seen the sop
Think of starbases as more of a supply depot (for extending the range of starships) and a support structure reflecting its "type" rather than being a starship itself.
There is a difference between acceleration and velocity (speed in a direction). Ignoring relativistic velocities, you are correct in that there is no practical difference in the velocity that can be achieved by either a small ship or a large ship. The difference is in how quickly they can get to that velocity. A large ship will need a commensurately more powerful engine to apply the greater thrust needed to accelerate its greater mass to reach the same v
Likewise, there's no easy way of discovering where on the map a given planet is from the planetary manager screen. Okay, so Planet Foo IV just finished building a Maximum Fun Chamber this turn -- what should I build next? Well, if I know the planet is near the front lines, I might be more interested in building a Orbital Fleet Th
"without being scripted" This point seems to keep getting lost in the noise - The fact that you have taken one or two steps back from the actual playing of the game and analyzed the PROCESS of playing so that the AI's go through the same decision process that the human player does
It works for me... Did you count the colony capital tile? Also, don't forget you will only see an additional tile on base 10+ planets since everything rounds down.
Dumb question perhaps but how do I tell if a race is a *minor* one? 2 ways - It wasn't one of the ones listed during the setup, and it shows up only under the minor race tab on the diplomacy screen.
A variation is to make a turn end once every player has played, which would help speed up the game. Hotseat is one thing - there you are preserving the sequential nature of the turn-taking. Simutaneous movement/turns isn't just a variation - it's a fundamentally different game.
Decomission one of the factories and buy/build a starport You don't actually have to choose "decommission" - you can just build over it, and get charged for the difference in building values,
