In the earlier versions, too - click on the number field works for both $ and Influence pts

Don't get hung up by the title "trade good" - it essentially is a wonder that you can "trade" like a technolgy. They have nothing to do with trade routes - that's for the plebian goods - not the primo secrets that leaders get to leak.....
Actually, from the various Star Wars books, Coruscant is 80-90% built IN - I think the infrastructure/building depth is measured in miles (or KM )
Only used them in one GC1 game, and that was because I made a point of it - at ONE movement per turn, though, it took FOREVER to use the darn thing. And that was making it with a constructor fleet near the enemy target. Expensive modules, too.
Now before I even produce a Medium ship I try to have a 2 defence rating in something (a 1 defence doesn't give defence bonuses to the other types). Not really - the square root of 1 is 1, so a 1 defense in any type gives 1 defense against any of the weapon types. And it follows that having 1 defense in all 3 categories will give 3 defense again
Im not intrested in the betas, Im talking about the finished versions If you launch StarDock Central (online, of course), and go to the Games window, you will see at the bottom of the screen 2 items: "Show pre-release versions" and "Auto-archive on application update". Both have boxes next to them for checkmarks. If you don't want to see betas,
This was a nice feature in GalCiv1 AP
What you are essentially doing is licensing the use of the trade good to whomever you are "selling" it to. This ability is reserved to the owner of the trade good. The only way you can lose the benefit is if you lose the planet it was built on. Conversely, if you conquer a planet on which a trade good was built you become the new owner of the trade good and acquire the benefit and the ability to "sell" it to anyone who hasn't already been licensed. As an aside, if you conquer a wor
2nd (or 3rd) the motion. Just expand the window when you click on a starbase to show the available enhancements (including ones up the tree that need predecessors - marked as such, of course). This may even be a list the AI could tap into to avoid the multiple single constructor starbase trait?
Just make sure that the ships have at least 1 attack & 1 defense so that they get to use the respective bonuses...
If you are going to add supply ships (like tankers) to the mix, then you have to add in the calculations and micromanagement of logistics and the resupply of fleets. A supply ship, if you were to have it, would only allow cruises for a limited amount of time before the fleet would either have to return to base (like a starbase, maybe) or have another couple of supply ships sent out to it (escorted, of course). What it can't be is an ersatz starbase you haul around with you to indefinately exte
Strange that luxembourg doesn't do that, or plenty of other real world countries That's only a geographic example - when you get down to basics, Western Europe, because of the shared history of the Roman Empire and later, of the Catholic Church/Holy Roma
mute Sorry to correct, but the word you want is "moot"
this is all true but i just don't like to send unarmed ships into combat Well, you don't - if you are making invasion ships the way to go is to maximize the speed and sensors of the ship so you can keep out of trouble. If the enemy warships have more legs than your transports - you need to do more research before you take him on....
If you strip all of the starting techs from the AIs, will they know to research them?
If you are talking earth normal levels of radiation density, the radius would be roughly the size of the earth's orbit ~93 million miles. This comes out to a surface area of roughly 108 quadrillion (10^15) square miles. (4*pi*r^2) The earth has a surface area of (including oceans) roughly 197 million (10^6) square miles. (proportion water to land ~ 70%/30%) So the scale of a complete Dyson sphere is roughly 500 million earths. partial quote from wisegeek.com <table cellpaddin
Scorched earth policy has long history Generally speaking, scorched earth is a defensive tactic to deny an enemy the use of conquered resources. Sometimes I wonder if the AI has this as one of it's routines..... What you are referring to is more on the order of interdiction, and while a valid military tactic, to do it on a planetary scal
For later on in the game, I do generate a large capacity, fast transport primarily for population shifting - particularly to "new" planets. On these I will put token weapons & defenses to take advantage of military starbases if needed.
Look at reply #81
Better watch out - PETA may start after you.... And to the OP - nicely put.
OK, it's only counting tax income - that's the positive #. What expeditures is it counting?
2) what I do to see if I have ships that have movement (other than looking at my gray turn button), is to select a ship that has used all movement already (with that many, shouldn't be hard). Hit the space bar, and it will flip to the next ship that has movement. Be careful not to do this with a ship that has turns, as it zeroes the amount of movement, and you lose a turn
It would also have the side effect of introducing some "fog of war" as to what tech the AIs have available to them, since ones they traded for would not show up, either. Not that this is an endorsement......
There is a checkoff on the video configuration screen - you have to be running at a base (system) resolution higher than 1024x768 though. That's the min resolution for the game.
Reference # 39 Just some picky comments - otherwise mostly true Recoilless rifles - aren't. Actually, they are - the projectiles are rocket propelled - they are basically vehicle or tripod mounted upgraded bazookas (of about Korean Confli
