I didn't care much for them at the start, or for Presley either for that matter. But both the Beatles and Presley later came out with numbers that were quite different to their initial work and that showed flexibility, sensitivity, and taste (IMHO). I never went to any of their concerts. I only listened to their music via the radio or vinyl. I never liked the popular concert scene.

To paraphrase, "Beautiful music is in the ear of the beholder." I have not found the music in any of the GalCivs to be pleasing, so I was very glad when they added support for playlists. I am hoping for playlist support in GC3. For now, I have the music settings in GC3 turned off and I play my own playlist through a media player that came with Win8.1.
We've updated the tentative schedule! Check the original post for the updated info.
My thanks, as well. And thanks for shifting the designation of what is in the Alpha from the Beta.
Might be on purpose, like ST:V They checked everything out on their way home.
I really hope not. This has been a part of GC from the start. So has been the explanation of anything you tried to do that was "against the rules".
Also, I am under the impression that some of this is in the code that is being developed, that some parts of it are not yet available to us. I would certainly expect the final code to give an error message if we tried to build something on a yellow tile that we didn't have the tech researched yet that would allow us to build there.
I have also seen this. Could this be an accuracy issue? The HP is shown only to an accuracy of 0 decimal points, but if the ship has 0.001 HP left it should still be alive. Although it seems like this is a point of confusion that should be addressed somehow.
I think the point here is to find a way of alleviating the end game tedium of most 4X games. Changing difficulty level may be one way, but maybe StarDock can find another (perhaps better?) way? Some kind of invention could be well worth it in patent rights.
Don't worry about dating yourself. I already hold the record, having been alive for 3/4 of a century. Ever heard of a singer named "Johnie Ray" and the song "The Little White Cloud That Cried"? Then, of course, there was the Elvis Presley period that followed.
Of course stardock will be adding star names of their own, my galciv2 star file has about 1500 star names in it. No doubt there will be some overlap but probably not to much.
The star name file in GC2 has many replications. After sorting the list and pruning out the duplications I found the file only has about 500 unique names.
Its the same in twilight
Really? I remember a window popping up saying something like "you can not travel there." if a target location was outside the ship's range. And if the ship was already outside it's range and a target was inside it's range something like "it will be a long trip. the crew should report to their cryo tubes." --- Actually, I will have to bring the game up again to get the actual text, but you
I gave up on GameStop just as soon as I moved to Win8.1. Most of the GameStop games I had won't work on Windows 8 and most of those that do are available on Steam.
I have also seen this but since the tech tree and its support is so obviously incomplete as yet, assumed the support code for tech was mostly just a place holder for the real stuff when it becomes ready,
So ATM you get an extremely basic game ( alpha) as said not fun
I think this all depends on the tester. I have fun breaking games and reporting the breakages, However, I have found so few problems with the Alpha that I am getting bored. Kudos to Stardock for such a stable Alpha.
I have also gotten CTDs from the ship designer, which were automatically sent to Steam. I also opened a ticket on one of them and ran the tool they sent to me and sent the results to them. I really expected more crashes in the Alpha, but have seen so few problems until the shipyard appeared that I was getting bored, StarDock seems to have done better this time with GC3 than their usual "supremely good",
After researching all of the weapon, hull, and shield techs I tried building a most powerful ship and it crashed. I am opening a ticket. EDIT: I just realised the title should read "designing", not "building".
It is not accessible by the main menu. You've got to start a new game to access it.
I had assumed it was this way because the devs still have some issues to work out before the shipyard would be able to build ships with parts that required research (at this point the shipyard doesn't know what research has been done because a game hasn't been started).
For this to work would it require auto-pilot to avoid nebulae by default? Otherwise you're taking a gamble that you didn't sign up for.
True.
a ship that ends its turn in a nebula has a chance of getting lost (10%)
I'd think inertial guidance systems of the 23rd century would be much better and reliable than todays, so I would guess it would take some kind of electrical discharge from the nebula to damage the inertial guidance system (which, of course, should be well protected from such an event), so perhaps the chance of failure resulting in getting lost should
What? [e digicons]:O[/e] You mean I wore my F5 key out for nothing? [e digicons][/e] [e digicons]XD[/e]
I find it amusing that a nebula will restrict a sensor range of a ship within the nebula but a ship can see past the nebula if not within it.
Good, but I still think it is a bad idea to have two or more antivirus programs running simultaneously,
I have used Norton in many of its different forms over the last few decades and am currently using Norton 360 for 2014. I also tried switching to PcCilllin and learned an important lesson. You have to be very careful when switching from one anti-virus program to another. You must remove the old one completely before installing the new one, and some of them require special steps to be run to complete the removal. Failure to do a
Another double post. Sorry.
Double post.
It is likely the second of these lines will be changed for the Beta, but the copyright line is essential for the entire life of the game. And I almost didn't post it either.
