I didn't receive an e-mail either but I have to wonder if my having obtained the key so quickly after the announcement may have had something to do with it. Perhaps if one got their key off of the store before the e-mails were sent something was recorded and the e-mail got sent to only those that had not already gotten their key?

These do not create buildings or ships. I have tried "Economic Stimulus" and it increases the empire's economy as long as any colony is working on that project, and the projec

As I look at the pictures you provided I wonder if the problem is that you have not taken any turns yet (your turn counter is 0)? You may also want to go to the options and set the autosave interval to every turn. None of this should explain why your game is not being saved. It shouldn't matter -- the save game function should work in spite of having not done anything, so I suspect this is a bug. GC3 always saves games in folder C:\....\My Games\GalCiv3. It is hard coded i

I have some questions for you. Where were you trying to download the updated drivers from. Dell? or Intel? Can you give us specifics from DxDiag about your display system? If you could save the DxDiag to disk and post these two sections, "System Information" and the first 50 or so lines of "Display Devices" it may help us find an alternate source for drivers for your laptop. One caution: Find out what Dell's rules are for getting upgrades for drivers. If you get th

I have played GC1 and GC2 since they went into Alpha, so you are right, I have developed a taste for how it works. However, I like the wheel and hope it develops into a better way of controlling this mechanic of the game. However, right now it has some deficiencies, which is why I pointed them out. Since the wheel is still a work in progress, I was hoping the devs would find some elegant way of resolving those deficiencies.

What you see here, other than Icons, are likely what is going to be in release, maybe with a bit more polish.
What I saw with GC1 and GC2's Alpha and Beta was they did a lot of graphical overhaul during the external test cycles. So far with GC3 we have only seen Alpha builds 1 and 2. Somewhere in this forum I remember them also pointing out that some

My feel is that these outposts would be manned by your military, or perhaps your spy organization, which would reduce their susceptibility to cultural influence. Maybe not completely, but by a vastly huge amount.

At 120 turns into my current game the hitpoints bar for my ships shows color for 100% hit points instead of its current less than 100% hit points.
Logically i would expect it to be able to work since Windows 7 is pretty much Windows Vista with the atrocious memory management fixed. Though because of that I would have thought it would need more memory on vista. Could be it runs ansOS version check and doesn't recognise vista. Anyway I think you should upgrade your os anyway. Vista is awful and Microsoft should have given a free windows 7 upgrade

I can well understand your eagerness to get the latest GalCiv, and how that eagerness can lead to missing a few important requirements. The description of GalCiv III in the Steam Store lists the requirements for running GC3. These include Windows 7 (as you discovered), and certain other minimum and recommended systems requirements, such as a Dual-core processor (minimum) or an Intel Core I5 processor or equivalent (recommended), 4GB RAM (min) or 6GB RAM (rec), 512 MB DirectX 10.1 compatible V

When a colony's manufacturing queue list is increased to more than 8 projects, it becomes impossible to move items from any position to any position above the 8th position. When you grab an entry and start to move it, the queue automatically jumps to the top (if not already there), giving you only the top 8 positions as a target for moving the item you grabbed.

I can't agree less. Having PQ=0 planets is something I can buy into. Not having PQ=0 planets I can not buy into. The reason is that that is the way our own solar system is, and having it otherwise would reduce the "reality quotient" of the game. Making some PQ=0 planets usable in some manner, perhaps due to some tech advances giving different ways to exploit them, seems reasonable. but IMO some PQ=0 planets should remain that way, for pure decorative purposes if no other reason.

I have finally figured out how to reproduce it at will when manipulating the scroll bar for the planet list, the ships list, and the planet view "available projects" list. Each of these lists exist right next to the right edge of the game window. If you grab the scroll bar and slide it up or down, allow your mouse to stray outside the window, then release the mouse button, the scroll bar becomes locked to the mouse pointer. If you should stray off the window and back over the game window befo

I have had the resource values for this wheel pretty high and I too find it difficult to set it as accurately as I would like. And the larger the source resources for the wheel are, the more difficult setting it accurately to your goal becomes. I posted a thread on the "support" sub-forum and got this response from Raynman: "Thanks for the feedback! The production wheel is still in early development and I will make sure your comments are noted." My thread is at <a href="https://forums

This sounds very interestingly like the problem of being unable to colonize a planet, especially after what I was told was the problem. I wouldn't be surprised if both problems get fixed with the same fix. I also would not be surprised if both problems needed their own fix.
