bottom left button is a black circle. Great. Didn't notice that before. There is a scroll bar in the bottom right of the same screen. What is that for? I can't see any affect when I move it.

All of a sudden my domestic policy economy window has two extra entries without titles for expenses of over 1/4 billion. They suddenly showed up between the expenses for research/ship maintenance and destabilization/total. I am sending a screen shot to Scott.
Interestingly, after many turns, I see that these ships now carry my colors. I didn't notice when they changed, but I had been looking at them intermittantly for several turns after they were donated to me.
After many turns and going through many transports to capture planets, now my transports are dissappearing when I place them in guard status. They show up only when zoomed out far enough that the alternate icon shows up. When zoomed in, the ship is invisible (but the selection circle and status text are displayed). I am sending a snap shot to Scott.
I just removed 30 ships from guard status. Find found one of the ships which I gave a new destination. After that, find would not find any of the remaining ships with move points. (Galaxy size = small). The ships consist of 15 transports of my desigh (range = 22) and 15 donated defenders (donated by other races "for your valiant ..."). On the next turn all of the ships were found without problem (but a turn late).
I have been launching transport ships from the main menu -- select a planet, double click a ship to launch, load the troops, click "launch" on the "load troops window". Sometimes the program selects the ship, sometimes it leaves the planet selected. Which behavior I get seems to be totally random.
Many ships have been donated to my "valiant efforts against.... ", all of them being outside the ships' range from my planets. I gave them destinations within range of my planets on the turn they were donated to me. No destination marker showed for these ships. I tried selecting one of these ships in a later turn and tried to give it a new destination, but the marker still didn't show up. Once they arrived, I gave them new destinations, and the marker for the new des
I have ships that were donated to me by two races. They have retained their original colors, and this makes it difficult to tell whose ships are whose. What is the intent on ships that trade sides as far as colors go? Is this an issue for a later beta?
It also didn't take long to realize that the current technology tree we had in there just wasn't workable. I like what you did to the technology screen. It looks real nice. Could you do one more thing to it? Could you make the tech tree part of it scrollable so we can look at the entire tree?
Moelle, Just a guess, but I believe the beta is only in English. NLS came in the last beta level of GC1 (or perhaps it was the Gamma level), and GC2 is far from that stage. I don't know what the European testers are doing for text, but it sounds like they have some way to get English text displayed as English some how or another.
but I dont feel in the future that would ever come about. You may be right. But consider: They did this kind of thing with social improvements, ships, star base modules, etc. etc. etc.. So they have done some of the basic things already. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="m
I guess I don't really care whether the dialog is 1) sarcastic 2) realistic 3) formal 4) nice 5) complementary 6) or what ever. What I would like would be lots and lots of possibilities so that the responses didn't get old so quickly. But then, that isn't likely to happen unless Stardock asked us to help them build the files to support it. It would take too long for their small staff to flesh out such responses. How about if Stardock designed the s
The beta (as released so far) has only two map sizes. I did some snooping in the files and found the controls for turning on the larger size maps, but they are not supported on Beta 2. Cari says they won't be supported until they get time to do the work needed to support them.
and in the case of the news robot they are an impartial face. In GC1 the news robots (3) fit the evil/good alignment of the player. The evil robot looked like a mechanized, fire breathing, boss of the inferno.
I have yet to understand what benefit there is to having a sensor ship that has less travel range and speed, and less sensor range than a crewed ship. If a prob hull type that was uncrewed and thus required less in the way of support modules to substantially enhance range and got much more out of its engine(s) was available, then they would be worthwhile to me. The sensor probes in GC1 had the greatest range of any of the GC1 ships, but was a bit slower.
Could we have a switch to turn the connection points on and off? There are times when I want to see what I have designed and find the connection dots in the way.
I concur, although I do find the typical "near nude" look rather overdone by many games. I wouldn't object, however, to a balanced mixture of clothed and near nude.
Something very strange is happening to my upgraded star ports after reloading a game (restarted GC2 from the desktop). Some of them seem to be getting rebuilt as basic star ports. If I try to cancel the build I can not schedule a build of an upgraded star port. Also, the icon on the tile associated with the build queue item has changed from an upgraded star port (the icon with a star) to a basic star port (no star).
This problem seems to resolve itself after a few turns.
This game was reloaded starting from the desk top->main menu-> load game->..... When the main menu zoomed in the details show up as they should, but when zoomed out the icon substitution seems to get mixed up. Some of the planets with orbiting ships have the icons for the planet and the orbiting ships. I have sent shapshots of this to stardock. Sorry, but I was unable to figure out how to post the snapshots here.
Not only does the destination indicator dissappear, but all ships have a n/0 movement. (Ships on auto pilot still showed their autopilot status.) I thought I had seen this mentioned before, but I could not find a thread whose title was explicit enough to find it.
might, have something to do with the target location. My current game just dissproved this theory. After seeing it happen I tried to set up a before/after set of game saves, but have yet to capture them in the saves.
triple post! Yipes. How did that happen. I don't remember what was going on then, but I don't remember anything unusual. "Base planet quality: 16, modifiers: Soil enhancement +2, Terra
The second biggest challenge at the Beta level of GC2 is giving a good enough description of the error you are reporting, and Stardock even helps you with that. The biggest challenge is finding some problem to report. The beta for GC1 was much more entertaining from that perspective than GC2 is. GC2 isn't even scheduled for release until 1Q or 2Q next year and, as far as reliablilty is concerned, it is much better than GC1 was at the same point in its beta. I enjoyed
I loaded it from the main menu after starting galciv2.exe from the icon on the desktop . I have not yet tried reloading a game by going from within a game.
