Loose icons like that need to be applied individually. Right click on any shortcut, select properties, and you should see a place to change the icon in there somewhere.

If you really want to suppress them, you should replace them with solid colored images or something. Otherwise the default XP ones will appear and might look even more out of place.

I don't believe there is a list anywhere. The best thing to do is disect someone elses skin and see what sizes they used. Some images don't have 'default' sizes. Panel Item Background, for example, will stretch/tile depending on the size of the start menu icons, and the start menu items. Sometimes I have a title before I start, sometimes it comes to me during the creation process, and sometimes I come up with it after I'm done. Sometimes I have a working title and then come up with a more suitable one when I'm finished. Actually, most people don't check it. You were right to assume that it's for major updates. If you've just tweaked a pixel or two, or updated your description, it's not fair to put it back at the top of the library and push new or significantly updated skins down the list.

Actually, WindowFX 2 allows you to make your desktop icons 48x48 without effecting the rest of them. But I think it had issues with remembering icon positions, if I recall correctly.

You could check the font and color settings in the groupbox header section and the classic task button section (which is what IconPackager is using). If those don't do the trick, then the font and color are being taken directly from Font0 and Color0. There is no other place to change them. This is a problem with the applications themselves. They are using controls that don't get font information from Windows the way that they should. Everybody has an app or two that doesn't pla

Sounds like the icon file is corrupt. If you are making it solely for ObjectDock, you are better off saving it as a PNG instead.

To install a WinStyles suite or theme, you need to have the program WinStyles installed. https://www.stardock.com/products/winstyles/ You cannot simply open it with Windows XP's theme manager. As for SysMetrix not staying put, my guess is that it's due to a screen resolution change when you play your game.
