What video card do you have?
Brad and I are designing the game primarily. Oxide is doing all the engine work, art, etc. and also providing design feedback. The GalCiv team is still largely on GalCiv, though some are transitioning to an unannounced project. Mohawk is developing Offworld Trading Company on their own.
Currently we've been playtesting with most things unlocked at game start; and limited by resource costs. So far this has been feeling pretty good, but the most deadly stuff will be gated by research. We'll see if this holds up as time goes on, but it's working so far. ;)
We're not really aiming to be an e-sport out of the gate. If the game does well and lots of folks pull it in that direction, we'll look to support that more.
Hehe, yeah, the crew is looking into reducing the size of the badges to prevent overload. ;)
Okay, so here's a little something: This week we've been working on gameplay differentiations between the PHC and the Substrate. There are many little things that separate these groups, but we want to go deeper in terms of play style. We're not quite there yet, but we've got some solid ideas that we think will work out. We've also been looking at battle group formations in terms of behavior, unit spacing, etc. so that things work as intended. It
