The program most likely to cause this problem (out of the three you mentioned above) would be bootskin. Bootskin depends on the BIOS of the individual computer. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a standard BIOS, and bootskin might therefore not work correctly with all computers (Note, that this is exactly the reason why it is unsupported freeware). Out of the Box systems often have a tweaked or altered BIOS and might therefore not alway

If you change individual icons through Iconpackager (instead of appying a complete icon-pack) make sure you save the theme after you are done changing the icons. (File > save package as..)
Problem one: What exactly is the error message? Do you have Bootskin https://www.stardock.com/products/bootskin/ installed? Does the error occur when you unzip the files, or when you attempt to install the files? Note that if the files download as .bootskin , the only thing you have to do is double click on them. Alternatively open the program and import the files from there. Problem two: What version of CursorXP do you use (free or plus) and

the new forum system is specifically designed for this sort of thing. Note that it's in the "New Releases" forum Does anybody know when Stardock Central is going to be updated so the different chanels are visible? As it is now, everything goes into the 'General' section. Being on dial-up, SDC
Stardock has a nifty, free little program called AniUtil, which helps you in putting together your png's or bmp's correctly. https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorxp/downloads.asp
I don't have this suite, but you might have to install some of the things manually. First I do think that there are different resolution wallpapers included in the suite. Change the extension of the suite- or theme-file to zip and unzip it to a folder of your choice. Have a look inside; the bootskin should have the extension .bootskin the clock, calendar, meters, and weather items are either a .dxpack or an .exe (widget).
When you download this docklet unzip it and move the folder into your ObjectDock\Docklets folder. Then right-click on your dock > Add Entry> Startmenu 2. This will create a shortcut with the defaul image (the purple question mark) on your dock. You can then right click on this shortcut and choose 'configure startmenu docklet'. From there you can change the icon of your shortcut (set image). Alternatively click on 'Configure my Do
Yes, you are correct, it is a known problem. However, the newest version of CursorXP (1.31.015) supports AMD64 Processors. This is from the readme file: What's new in CursorXP Plus 1.31 (December 2004) - Support for DEP on AMD64 processors running 32-bit Windows XP SP2. I would recommend you download the newest version from stardock https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorxp/downloads.asp Note that I am not sure wet
"I never used to have any problems before a few weeks ago." I assume that you have CursorXP installed? https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorxp/ How do they download (what is the extension of the files you download?). Is it CurXPTheme or is it zip? To see your extensions open WindowsExplorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > and untick 'hide extensions for known file types'. If they are CurXPTheme just double click on them an
Hmm, the only way I was able to do that was by creating a shortcut to the control-panel on the Desktop (Double-click My Computer, then left-click and drag the Control Panel icon onto the desktop). You can then drag this shortcut onto your dock. However, you can not delete the desktop icon after you are done. You can always hide the desktop items though (Right-click on Desktop > Arrange Icons By > show Desktop Icons). The same system would aply
i got em by the balls and if they expell me, i just drop out and go USAF Yea, putting your future on the line for a simple prank is the way to go Just say sorry and help them to fix the holes. Dropping out of
Which version of Windowblinds are you using? Do you have an AMD64 Processor? The problems you described should definitively not occur and most SP2 systems work without a problem with WindowBlinds.
I downloaded it into a seperate folder as suggested and when I click on the folder to open or install it nothing happens I am not sure what you mean here, after you downloaded them into your MyDocuments\skins folder do you double-click on the wba-files ? Clicking on the folder itself won't do any
80g harddrive,1100mz processor,Win ME Yea, I agree with NT, I think that might explain your problems with DesktopX. I believe you would need an older version of DesktopX, in order to run it on a WinME system succesfully. If you contact stardock support ([email protected]) they might be abl
Good trick James
Are you missing one of your shortcuts when that happens? Which version are you using? Older versions of OD seemed to have suffered from Altzheimers and sometimes shortcut would replaced by the 'question mark'. I would try and upgrade your version of OD.
Problem one: You can find and download Systats here: https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=4271&LibID=29 Make sure you install this first before you attempt to use any of the other Systats based docklets. Problem two: This is more difficult, how did your create the shortcut on your dock? Using the dropdownlist in the 'DockEntryProperties' menu, or by dragging your shortcuts from the desktop to the dock? Try to do it both ways
I am not sure about the trial version, but when you have DesktopX loaded do you get a icon in your System tray? If yes, try to rigth click on that and either click on "Configure DesktopX" or on "Switch to Authoring Mode" and then on "Configure DesktopX". You will find the Startup option on the 'Preferences' tab in the configuratio menu. If you don't have this option, you can always do the following: 1) Open WindowsExplorer and go into
Have you made sure that the Logons installed properly? Go and check your LogonStudio folder. It should contain a separate folder for each logon you downloaded and installed. If it isn't there try to reinstall the logon. For logons that download as a .logonXP just double-click on them. For logons that download as .zip unzip and click on the .logonXP file within this unzipped folder. For logons that downloaded as a zip but do not contain a .log
which exact theme are you having problems with? It might be due to some button or other part of the side-bar wich is set to "always on top". I would also recommend to have a look in the stardock newsgroup (news.stardock.com) they have a special newsgroup for DesktopX and the program developers themselves sometimes hang out there as well. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" bor
First make sure you are in 'Authoring Mode'. To do that right-click on your DesktopX icon in the system tray. If is says 'Switch to Authoring Mode' on the top of the menu; click on that. If you have 'Configure DesktopX' on the top, you are already in Authoring Mode. Right click on the object that gives you problems > Properties > Relation > Z-order, you can change the 'always on top' to 'normal' from the drop down list. Warning! Some
your welcome glad I could help
Hmm, maybe this has something to do with the fact that you actually had changed the icon for it. Have you tried to reset the image for this icon? It seems that OD has saved the settings for your dock (including this tray icon with its new image) and tries to reload it every-time it shows up. Maybe you can save your OD-Theme with the reset image and OD will not attempt to create it the next time it starts up? <a href="../resourc
You were correct there. After upgrading to SP2 Windows seems to sometimes forget the correct extensions, and downloads everything as a .zip file. Don't worry, in time Windows will correct itself but meanwhile you can do the following: 1) Open your WindowsExplorer click on Tools > Folder Options > View > and untick "hide extensions for known file types" 2) Download your Windowblinds into a folder of your Choice and remember wher
