Jarget, the initial changes made with the new server will impact everything "display"-oriented on the site (ASP generating the HTML for your browser, which was the limiting factor). With the splitting of subscriber download links to another set of bandwith, the base WC site has more than enough capacity to actually get files down (and has for months, we've been CPU bound). None of the above. Drivers, all the way. We've a P3-350 test box with a Matrox G400 which is consistently one of the best at the transitions. It's a little slower with shadows, but not so's you would notice. The 41.03 detonators are generally ok, provided you disable shadows. Radeon 8500 and 9000 are as well, though the 9700 appears to have a busted driver still. And all the G400 or later Matrox boards. This is with Best mode. I was talking about the transitions for minimize/restore. The open/close window animations make use of other functions. In the specific example above, the lack of per pixel support with the Matrox will make the shadows and fade animation effects slower.

We are working with NVIDIA to optimize their drivers for a future release. In the interim, disabling the shadows should help with the Detonator 40's. And quite possibly with the RADEON as well.

At this precise moment in time, for the Best quality mode, it tends to work best with ATI RADEON 8500/9000 boards (the 9700 drivers have some issues based on feedback we've received. The Matrox G400/550 boards also work well. NVIDIA is very much a system-by-system basis right now. There is an OEM version of WindowBlinds, but I'm not at liberty to say more about where it is being used this week (ask again in a week or two). There didn't seem to be a need for a huge amount of instructions about installing or adding your serial number. The developers can help out on why it might be crashing, but you should have had everything needed to run it and with the DGM (loader.exe/drengin.exe) configured, to download new updates.

I do a mad rush for colonization and building up infrastructure. First element is to plan a rough idea of where my empire is going to expand initially. I'll even bring the colony ship back into orbit to add some additional population so that my first colony will have a better base to start off. Well CNN isn't running stories on press releases about an OCX that allows you to customize the look of your application... And the more salient bit for this particular news item is that DAP is looking for people to create new skins. SeriousMagic just won a PCMag "Best of Show - Desktop Software" at PC Expo last month too. And DAP has a lot of users, though skinning is only in their registered version.
