Also for lucky_jack. 9:35pm-ish in main galciv forum. ~SDC~

I wouldn't hold my breath on the download price of GalCiv being 20-30 bucks. On the 26th, there will be more order options available. Right now (since the beta is over), nobody can order it and download it immediately.
Now there's a good idea(ML). What if you had a terror star transport mod to "acquire and reeducate" the population to be more productively employed elsewhere? Or an add-on to be like the Borg where you could produce some amount of ships from their resources before you imploded their star and rendered their existence moot. Would brothels be too edgy? Keep morale high AND improve population growth. Happy Ending Virtual Reality Massage Parlor ;-) Metagenic zoo t
"Pour encourage les autres": increase the efficiency of your troops or planet production by killing off a certain percentage of them. Boost production by driving your workers harder for a specific span of time. Kills off some of them or impacts morale. Trade undesirables to other civilizations. Start a jihad. Improve the defense of your planets by orbital battlestations. Which just happen to use your citizens as fuel. When we get a chance to look
I like to think of Terror Stars as stellar pruning shears.
Strategy First will be receiving the files to localize it for Europe. I believe (don't hold me to this), that'll be at least French and German. And probably Spanish and Italian.
I rather doubt Microsoft is still holding a grudge against OS/2 vendors who are continuing to innovate on Windows.
There's no receptionist. Kim handles Sales with an iron fist.
That's exactly what I've seen at home with a 733/ATI 7200 Radeon/384MB. The animation on the left of the start screen was also smooth. Don't have any of the intro files at home to see. Remember with the FS ones, it's switching resolutions now. Still, the robot was happy.
It would be safe to say the only effort that has been expended on Kazaa in months is noting a report of a crash when its about dialog was opened. Go download some of the spyware finding apps and remove the crap that the default install of Kazaa helpfully adds for you.
Speaking of dark skins, its often neat to use the Invert skin colors option inside WB with some of the darker skins. Not always a perfect conversion job, but often quite useful.
We've gone up to double letters before. WB 2.14zf comes to mind.
We're waiting on another shoe at the moment. More Monday if not sooner.
CMD prompt skinning will need a WindowBlinds 4 build in the coming days. XP-only for the initial alpha testing. But, 2000 should support skinned consoles as well.

DesktopX2 alphas have been on ODNT since late last year. In fact, there will be another one later tonight. The MCP has not made a public appearance yet. And its name is going to change first...
We've made some small use of that "Internet" thingy. Surely it's just a fad though... Scroll all the way down on stardock.com for where to add your email to the Stardock Magazine mailing list.
If you have a registered copy of DesktopX, you can contact me privately and we can arrange something.
Afraid not, sorry.
Very pretty, but could I please request a sub-style without the flashing lights? Yes, I know I can hit the Stop button in IE.
No. But when February rolls around, there will be an option to get some sort of physical media for a nominal charge. It's not 100% settled exactly what form that will be, be at the least, it'll be a CD with a nice label and suitable dvd case. At most it may be a boxed copy like you could have gotten at retail. Remains to be seen.
"The" NVIDIA went with a custom skin for this offering. The wine colored one (which Alexandrie, Treetog, GreenReaper, and PJPowell all contributed on) is being used by several NVIDIA OEM's previously mentioned (as well as their custom skins for each.
Though I should add that Alexandrie and Treetog helped them over some of the rough edges.
This was NVIDIA's first stab at doing it in-house. In the past, when working with their partners, they've contracted the work out to community skinners.
We have GalCiv Gold CD's for people who really want a copy of the OS/2 version still. Email [email protected].
