have not played GalCiv I but by all reports GalCiv II will be far superior. GalCiv II has 3D instead of 2D graphics, a much improved AI, the ability to design custom ships, etc. I have only purchased three games in my life, GalCiv II was the third and based on what I have seen in playing the Beta 5 release, I'm happy with my purchase! only 3

can anyone say expansion pack? i mean sure its kinda bad that we cannot recreate a starwars themed campaign were a group of fighters much destory a gigantic death star but think of all the features that had to be put in tested and balanced there is really no comparison between gal civ one and two and though we may miss the terror stars i really wouldnt be surprised to see it arrive in an expansion pack or something to that extent, and with the featuers that stardock was able to cram into one in

most companies are too afraid of loseing money so they put in tons of antipiracy programs that really make it a hassal to buy the game legitimately with the hassal of having to use cd codes and other antipiracy programs, what is really funny is that within a couple hours of release these antipiracy programs are cracked and on illegal servers for download so the ppl that buy it ligit get to deal with horrible antipiracy programs while the ppl that steal it get to play it free of hassal

unless of course u build a ton of ships with no engines or life support and just a ton of weapons, the only promblem is that you need a couple of fleets that can intercept enemy fleets because if you dont the enemy fleets will cut through your defenses like a hot knife through butter (this is assuming that you havent built any defensive improvements)

dunno maybe it was my wasting time with the civ 3 multiplayer but i have just never liked the idea of a tbs multiplayer i would rather have the developers spend more time on improved and more complex diplomacy, harder ai, more ship components, new gameplay features, ui improvements, and overall streamlineing than work on a multiplayer that will only appeal to a limited number of ppl but of course this that is much better thanis just me and i understand that ppl do use and play tbs mu

"I have been following GalCiv 2 for quite a while but it *never* even occured to me that a game nowadays, especially a TBSG turn based strategy game would not have a MP option" TBS multiplayers are usually never used or take way too long to complete plus most of the people who were polled by stardock would rather have a game with customizable ships than a multiplayer, plus the ai is good enough to give even fanatics a run for there money at higher difficulty levels (and be a rea
