agreed that option would get really useless really quick
Civ3Fanatic
is it worth building starports on planets without any factories? i mean they can build a ship once every 20 turns at best and thats for a really cheap ship and by the time its built its either obsolete or useless becaseu the situation that it was needed for is past. wouldnt it be better to just put in more market places or reasurch centers?
wait a minute so all those times i thought i was number one i was really in last place? maybe i should tone down the difficulty a little bit...
expansion pack could ahve it
disappointed that the public beta going to end but i guess for prductiveties sake privates alot better that and i want to be the first to say that i think that the final product will be one of the best turn based strategy space games out there
wonder what would happen if you were able to set 3 racs allied to you and those 3 races at war with eachother... which side would you pick?
definently think there should be a way for memeber races of up to be able to call the up to stop others from invading. if your being invaded by a non up member then the chances that theyll declare war on the invader should be extremely high (this would be one incenetive to staying in the up) if your being invaded by another up member then there should be a voting on which the up decides to declare war on the invader, do nothing, or declare war on you. this would depend on race relatio
also you might want to toggle around with the economic sliders, if u havnet already, usually in the begining i change this frequently to try and get the most out of my spending money
also i do that ship designt technique that popup target does, sometimes making a completely new design to reach one planet or starbase that is really far away or extremely close to the enemy then once i have finished using that design deleting it so that my ship list dosnt become unmanageable
Again i come to offer yet a different strategy for me i ususally set taxes to round 60% in the beggining and on my homeworld ill build two factories a reasearch lab and a couple economic buildings, when i colonize other worlds however, i usualy dedicate them to one task and one task only, for example when i first start colonizing ill usually dedicate 4-5 planet to just ship building right off the bat building only factories and a starport on them, by then my economy is begging to suf
the thing is though they now have to calculate the effect of being in orbit now and when your trying to attack an enemy in space while your moving thousands of miles per hour over the planet and at the same timetrying to coordinate your movements with th other ships in the area and it gets a little more complicated
definently agree with rogerano the light blue guy can only expand so far b4 its expanding nieghbors cut off any colonizable planets and since in the beggining of the game he dosnt have enough range to go beond his nieghbors his nieghbors can take there time and expand out whenever they want
you can only reasurch one thing at a time throughtout the whole game there is no way to reasurch more than one thing at a time. colonizing mars just means that there is another planet that is putting funding to reasurch
Xp in battle can upgrade health and i think to some extent weapons and defnce but from what i have seenits mostly a health upgrade, the biggest maps are big enough for a fairly long game and make for some great gameplay, especially if your playing against a couple of good computer opponents, however i wouldnt mind them going any bigger and i hope the devs decide to add a size above gigantic when all is said and done. as for deciding to buy the game or not i highly recommend buying it,
intelligence could be used by a herbivor to organize a defence against a carnivor, for example if a herbivor could organze the herd with an intelligent mind the chances of survival of all in the herd would increase dramactically, also on an alien planet we cant assume that there vegetation dosnt have protein or that it owuld be even nessary for intellignet life to have a ton of protein becasue there llife chemistry could be entirely different from ours
exactly my point predators attacking herbivors are a perfect mean to make the herbivor adapt to be smatter to outsmart the predator, and since lets assume that like many herbivors on earth they travel in herds, that adaptation could quickly build up a society that has no intention of killing others of its own species because of that herd instinct
thx
game crashed after UPC voting was done and clicked on the done button on the lower right hand corner
Actually, I have thought about it. Without conflict, I don't think a race would be as motivated to improve on their situation. Why invent a wall if you have noone to keep out? well for one thing in the beginning of that pacifist herbivors existance they would build a wall to keep predetors and build shelters against the environment, that was w
i know that the metaverse isnt fully up and running yet but i just wanted to make sure that a couple features that i think are essential get into the metaverse. first off a search button would be greatly appreciated right now to find anyone you have to go through pages and pages and that just makes the metavers unwieldly second having your own name hilighted or in bold on the list so that you can easily spot it amongst all the other rankings and see were you stand (special
Rather have it in addition to the time, haveing the date and time is useful for me specially when im doing multiple games at once
ive seen this mulitple times ive even gotten a ship to go to 60 out of 50 (or something like that odnt rember the specifics)
i dont think that you guys are giving docile organisms a chance, that may be becasue we cant think about a world at peace without war for more than a couple of years ubt just for a moment imagine what technological state we would be at if no wars ever ruined or destroyed knowledge and all funding that went to wars was instead turned into funding for the sciences and for beetter living, a species could become highly successful if they dont ahve to bear the burdon of killing themselves
why wouldnt a pacifist species be able to survive on there planet? if a herbivor species gained intelligence and was completely pacifist all they would have to do is build a wall of some sort or go into a cave and defend it and most predetors would be kept at bay, since there staying in one spot they begin to expirement ways of increasing food production in there area thus the dawn of the agricultural revolution for them, since they are pacifists and no energy is spent on killing eachother they
We as a human race for the most part have morals that tell us to be nonviolent and peaceful and yet we could have huge wars and weapons that could if they ever get used wipe out the whole human race. How then could a race like the dregarian who upholds violence and war survive to the galactic colonization level without killing enough of themselves or there environment to go extinct?
