still you got to admit it does provide alot more than the two sentences you get in the beta
Civ3Fanatic
well the hive mind could alow certain freedoms such as fashions to its individuals since evolutionary speaking it would be bad to evole a system in which one mind thinks about evrey little detail for billions of people, it would make any mind go completely insane the individuals have to be able to make some sort of choices though it would probably be just simple ones like fashion, also if the hive mind just said "eveyone wear the same thing" it wouldnt have to think too much on that. another thi
im not saying that the zoomed out is bad im just saying that if there could be a way to toggle it on and off that would be nice cause then i can see more of the graphics when i play the game
you guys have done a great job with the graphics and the strategic map looks great and provides a ton of info but i think that it would be nice if you were able to zoom out and c the map in the regualr view without any icons to get a big picture view of your whole empire. it would also help show off the graphics
wouldnt cheats interfere with the metaverse? i mean if they put in cheats then they will also have to put in a code to prevent that game from being sent into the metaverse becuase the person used the cheats
same here cept that i have seen reasources claimed by ai 9 times out of 10 very few unclaimed reasources got through to me
what about solving this by just having the survey ship being self sufficent (ulimited range)? i mean all it does is explore and collect bonuses it has no military value beyond that of a scout and using it as a scout is just asking for it to be blown up so having the ship being self sufficent would make wormholes have definent value and there would still be the risk of ending up in the middle of an enemies army
i know there is a risk of entering a wormhole but loosing your survey ship in the beginning of the game for 30 moves is too much of a punish can it at least be limited to 10 moves away from range? that or allow it to pick up a couple bounuses on the way?
if truth be told in there current state wormholes are more of a hassle than anything else. for example when i was playing on a gigantic map my flag ship went into the wormhole and ended up on the other side of the galaxy and it took round 30 turns to get back into range of one of my planets and by that time the computer had already gotten to most of the ananomolies in my system leaving me without alot of bounuses that i would have gotten now if the wormhole had transportate
disagree with u on the fact that speed is more valuable in a small map in the beginning it may be so but near the end on a small map when everyone has reasearched the necessary speed upgrades everyone can pretty much make it across the map without any special speed upgrades nullifing the bonus
not necessarily since the space taken up by the sensors could have easily been devoted to more important things like death rays and missel batteries
well in RTWyou had a ruling family and each memeber started out with certain characteristics and with each battle won or for a certain amount of years govenering they would get both good and bad characteristics to get more family members you could either wait for a couple to have babies and then wait for those babies to come of age or marry offf one of the unmarried female daughters of the family to a male from another family (back in Rome this was common the game was just trying to
sounds good to me plus since territory wouldnt extend as far as influence there would be some corridors of "no mans land" whitch are too far away from civ's planets and starbases to be part of anyones territory (considering that space is humongous in real life if we every get to the galactic level this would proabably happen anyways) and thus international ground for trading and a fine path to move ur huge mega armada pass other civs
kinda like a RTW govener/ general thing?
i like the idea of making it so that enemy units cant pass into your territory without declaring war but i think instead of u going to the other civ and saying "lets agree not to pass into eachothers terriories" it should be that ou cant pass into eachothers territories from the beggining without declaring war and u have to go to enemy civilizations and say "if i let your ships pass through my territory will u let my ships pass through yours?
well one thing that could enhance cultureal victory and trade routew descions is the influence of a stronger culure spreading through trade historically trade has been a major travel route of ideas technology religon diseases exct and i odnt c how on a galactive scale it should be any different an example of how this might work is lets say your a medium sized empire trying for a culural victory you can either trade with a bigger empire to get more money to build and suppo
actually in the beta 3 u can rename planets but i think that it still needs some work on first when u first colonize a planet and that little screen pops up that says colonizing of the new planet has gone smoothly if u click on the name shown at the bottom then u can change it to whatever u want (it takes a turn to change so be patient) also if u have already colonized a planet and want to change the name just click on the planet once double click on the name at the bott
how much do i have to send in order to get promoted enough to get into the private beta 4
how is rank determined? right now im a low rank and i know that i wont be able to go up in rank in time to get the b4+ version but im just curios
it would make a nice touch but does the graphic designers have time to implement it?
really think that your on to something that could be implemented in an expansion set or something i mean isnt it kinda strange that completely different races in the end get the exact same technologies with the same result? it would also make it more strategic in choosing a civilization do i want the humans witch can unlock the unltimate industrial improvements or should i go with the dregarian advanced super solider upgrade? really think its a great idea <img src="smile
some of the best ships id seen since homeworld 2
Civilizations call to power had something like this except that certain units had the i think it was called auto defence or something ability and that meant that if certain units passed withone one square they would automactically attack it and either shoot it down or damage it as that unit moved by but i like your idea better because it requires more thinking and strategizing do i go and attack or wait for them to come to me...
That would really be cool. A frozen world would have an "icy" set of tiles, for instance i think that there is already some sort of ice worlds but they only have a PQ of 3 at the most
i knew what u meant i was just pointing out that in desparate times when it is either crash and reload or death at the hands of the Yor id take my chanvces with the crash plus with my version of the beta i can easily use techs that the other civs dont have to kepp the peace so that at least is stable enough to keep my empire from getting completely destroyed
