Wow. A lot of people have decided to order GalCiv II from us - direct! There are literally thousands of boxes being sent out right now. The corridors are filled with boxes which have more boxes in. It's like an air-raid shelter in here. We're looking into buying more of the building we're in just to store them all. For those of you waiting patiently, be assured that we are trying to get these boxes out as fast as we ca

That's not exactly how it works. Remember that a) it gets harder to manage population as it increases and b) you just can't increase population above a certain level dependant on the planet class.

There are various methods to change the credits offered, including the slider bar, the buttons on the slider bar, the buttons next to the number, and editing the value itself. I guess we could just have made it give you the best offer, but wouldn't that have taken the whole point out of negotiating in the first place? I mean, even turning green is a huge bonus - most real-world negotiators won't give you instant feedback of when your offer is acceptabl

If you want search, and you have firefox or opera, just try my search plugins . There's one for the GalCiv II forums. If you don't have either of those browsers, now would be an excellent time to switch. Alternatively, if you have the IE7 beta, you should

OK. I've talked to the guys here. It is working as designed. However, the design is likely to be changed at a later date. For now, I suggest you check your economy when reloading.

Yeah, you asked where you could get a warez copy of the game so you could give it out and be a hero to your friends: [14:09.29] :engel: So why is it taking forever for someone to either seed this game over a torrent or release it through a DC hub or FTP. The warez posse is really letting me down on this one. Then, later, when you where whining about being banned from #galciv, I asked you (several times) what you meant by that:<br/

It should be fine, MadMirko. Stardock's licensing is generally per-user, not per-machine, so if you're the primary user of those machines, then you can install it on both of them. Just don't try to install it on every machine at your office.

amaevis, you are right. Stardock could not make the games that it does if it were subject to the pressures faced by most game companies. Games can make significant amounts of money, but few do, and it is very "lumpy" and delayed income which can result in layoffs due to cashflow problems. The applications side ensures that this does not happen at Stardock. Our first objective with GalCiv 2 was to make a great game. It will be nice if

If you want to add more search providers to IE7 than the default given, try TweakVista . Despite the name, it should work on XP if you have .NET 2.0 installed. It's got way more on offer than the default engines, and you can even make your own if your site supports "GET"-based s

We currently use Visual C++ on VS.NET 2003. No managed code, but we use the STL and Boost libraries. I did briefly consider trying to port the codebase to 2005, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle at this point. We are trying out things with WPF, atlhough TweakVista is "just" a .NET 2.0 Windows Forms app, partly because almost all our graphics resources are tied up in GalCiv right now. I've never played Nintendogs myself - the clos

1.6 Gb should be OK. The game directory here is 400Mb, though that's without movies. I agree that the video card is pushing it a little. I couldn't be sure that the game would run at an acceptable speed on your system. You're probably right to wait for a demo.

Brad and the rest of the game team are busy hammering out the gold version of the game (which is going to be great, by the way - even I like it, and I hardly ever play games nowadays), so I thought I'd take the chance to explain exactly how profiling works. If you've seen the raw notes that Brad posted, you'll understand why they need explaining! <img src="

sk8man101: Good to know the problem could be solved. Zubaz: Quiet, you! I am working on it - when I get time off from Natural Desktop, DirectSkin, and all the other pies I have my fingers in . . . mmm, pie.
