Hi, I would advise all of you to have a look at this exciting new space 4x rts game. It is called Distant Words and will be released soon. The concept is very cool and it seems very easy to play. Check out the videos! The website is: http://www.codeforce.co.nz/ Distant Worlds - Overview Distant Worlds is a vast, real-time, 4X space strategy game. Explore the ga

In addition, the strongest player could just use the Divide et Iimpera strategy and win even easier (at least that is what I do when I'm quite strong). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divide_and_rule

"Yes, it is actually more difficult to get weak AI's to attack a strong AI than getting the strong AI to attack the weak AI's" Perhaps this should be addressed in a future patch or galciv3. I think it is logical (at least in board games it is) to gang up against the strongest player, otherwise you'll lose the game for sure at high difficulty levels + it is less realistic.

1) devote resources to social production in the economy screen, don't build too many building in the beginning. It can ruin your economy. 2) Design your own ships and research the necessary techs 3) Starbases can't defend planets, they only defend the specific spot in which they are place, however, they can assist your ships in a large area. + the effects stack! 4) Probably these are just ships attacking your ships.

Is it easy to get the AI gang up against the strongest player in the game? I would think that they are afraid om his military strength. I think, however, that it should be easy in the game as it is the only way - at difficult levels - to damage him. Resembles the game of RISK in which human players also try to form an alliance to weaken the strongest player/bully. What do you think?

Hi Maiden666, Thanks for sharing your idea. Seems logical, although I wonder if war by other AI's with this strong AI wouldn't affect his strength.

I think it would be useful to exchange diplomacy strategy tips. Main questions that arise are: 1) How do you pick your allies and enemies and why? 2) Does this depend on the kind of victory you aim for (diplomatic, conquest, cultural)? 3) Do you change allies and enemies often in the game or do you stick to them (I guess loyalty is rewarded, no?) 4) How does your diplomatic strategy relate to your military and economic strategies? 5) Anything you wish t

Hi, Good post and intelligent questions. I like to have some variation in my fleets. There is good information on the galciv2 wiki, in particular on weapons choices and ship combat. You should read it. I, however, prefer to have mixed fleets, irrespective whether it is efficient or not. It just feels more fun and realistic (like in scifi movies, tv series). I don't find it annoying that big ships take long to build. It should be that way in my opinion. Try to specialis

Great I am looking forward to this game. I hope it will be better than Armada 2526. The details are still a bit vague though (how much will it be like a 4x and how does it differ from Galciv2?). Any details on the release date or the possibility of a demo?

In the galaxy set up menu you can select custom maps. But the menu doesn't tell what the various maps will look like. Where can you find this kind of information? For example, how do I know what the custom map "Struggle" will look like?

Interesting and useful post, would be nice to have something printable once the discussion has settled.

Strength & Honour 2 Looks very promising, but also quite similar to the Total War games, but then with lower graphics. How does it compare? @Wirespeed91: Thanks for your explanation. Is there any diplomacy in this game? Or is it only fighting?
