It's enough of a pain that I generally wait and look for packs of them, well that is what I did in the first elemental.
Supreme Shogun
There's going to a long period of time between now and release date. There's also no telling if someone's issues are going to be addressed the way they'd like them to be. I have a feeling something like monsters is seen as working and may get zero further attention, by them. The other issues, like pioneers again may not get addressed or it may. I don't think it's arrogant. I think even the developers realize many differ
1) Depends on names you got for sequels. like Fallen Enchantress: Return of the Titans (hints that it still resembles FE ) . Personally I think E:WoM was such a bomb you should embrace the fallen enchantress. 3) Spells, I largely agree with Seanw3's suggestions. In short each book should be viable to specialize in the way things are. Say I choose water or air or whatever to be the main one - each should have levels of summons, enchant
Wow. This. Totally this. I would like to throw my support in as well. My frustrations over the current magic spells are answered here plus so much more. I completely agree with your suggestions. [e digicons]k1[/e]
I disagree about raise / lower land. IF it completely removed a mountain and allowed for path through in one casting, yeah it'd be possible to double or 5x the cost. BUT, it doesn't it requires multiple castings and is a pain in the butt. It supposed to be cool, you know having a shortcut and all. The execution is meh. I think the enchant city spells just get lumped into a it must cost huge mana pile. Maybe this will get
Yeah, something to go off of at least. I'd be happy with any progress you are able to make in that area. Sounds like any sweeping changes are going to be time consuming ( having to look at and change several monsters ) . If you want to just make changes to a couple say ... slags and skath for the int raising and maybe the obsidian golem a candidate for the territory increase. Can look at how those are affected and make judgements as to how it'
Drain Life will always be greater than heal, because you do damage to something and get hp in 1 spell. Curse is also a powerful spell taking away a unit's defence. There's even mass curse. Maybe death should get shrink (do unto others) while life keeps growth.
Well from another post I now see that these monsters aren't as predatory or aggressive as I thought they should be.
here is thread where Frogboy gives some tips on how monsters work / how to mod - https://forums.elementalgame.com/429842 , see #6, 9, 10, and 13 - this is what sparked my request. Also thanks to Frogboy's reasoning I think I understand how monsters are. More are indifferent than I thought . Still I'd rather a the skath and slags act like hippopotamus than a cow.&n
Nice start Das123! And Umbral, well been there done that. Ctrl-N is your friend.
Yeah if I was playing Verga I'd take earth for the Stoneskin. I think Magnar is more suited towards fire. Krax I treat like Verga (more warrior type leader than spellslinger ). The whole thing is predominately stacked in Ceresa's favor with the changing of shards. Still, Life needs some help.
I meant to the say the spiders cost no maint. / wages but have a mana cost to produce in the post above. Which allows for the keeping taxes low at start.
I would like to petition for changes to monster behavior, as Brad stated elsewhere- trying to find it, the monsters do have territory and such. Just that some are mindless beasts. I'd like for some to get upped in intelligence wise so they become more dangerous (skath come to mind ) . Maybe increase those who have territory a tad and increase the territory a bit. Also if find a way to decrease times it take for lair type monsters to upgrade/spaw
This is my opinion but Dark is better than Life at current state of things. I would like to see life get a first strike spell or another tactical type spell that would give attack and defence like a 2 point bump (+1 for each life shard ). Then a mass version for level 4 or 5 spell. I would also like to see one race get ability to "bless shards" which would be the opposite of corrupt shards. Instead of turning a shard into a death shard, it'd be life.&nbs
Thanks for posting, I have noticed it (the AI) spamming outposts like they're going out of style but I hadn't seen that before. I have seen two together once. Since it was once I didn't really give it another thought till now.
Re: Ceresa and Resoln, She is a bit of a glass cannon. The bound spiders you can get from the start are a bit hard to make, but they have no mana cost. They also fail regularly to web really easy units. Perhaps this will get tweaked a bit. The Cyndrum demons however, are saving grace. Other demons not so much but I made a border repell force out of them to keep out wandering riff raff. Then you can corrupt shard and get more cyndrum. Win.
Yep, under options. Not a bug. It's just defaulted for auto placement.
Yeah but they should care who's next to them. Free snacks. When it comes to the city / outpost next to them or boundary just covered them, they should think about going after that a lot more than they do. It's perceived that they just bee-line for the human player. I'm not the only one, obviously - and perception is everything.
Makes me think about having that Baldwin guy say "Maddening isn't it ? " like he does for the Capital 1 Miles card.
Agreed with you on semantics. Now call it Martyrdom instead. Bam! [e digicons]^_^[/e]
It's not fair. AI cheats and bribes monsters! ! Seriously though, they need to learn AI units/outposts/city taste as good as a human's. Be more aggressive and claim territory ( have ZOC ). I would welcome it, applied fairly. The current state of AI causing all the ruckus and getting ignored, I can't deal with.
I am going to use a quick compare and put in parentheses to the above () by Das123. Excellent topic and I respect your discussion even if we disagree on the scores. Also will be nice to compare scores, after its release date. [e digicons]B)[/e] I'll bet money on a final score above 100% it has that potential and is shaping up super awesome. Here's my take on the way it is now. Gamew
Interesting analysis. I am just going to bring up Ceresa, while binding is mention I did not see anything about the spiders. Their deal is to make sure nothing moves by shootingi webs. Then the casters or Ceresa nukes or shoots everything up. Who needs armor if they can't get to you? That's the idea anyway. I've not tried it extensively but it pretty good early on. Secondly starting spells are weak ? Really? Did you bother?&nbs
Sounds good.
I can't answer to the magnitude of how OP this would be, but it has potential to be game breaking. Unless you limit the casting to 1 of each per tile, or 1 per tile. The mana cost should be more than 2 to 300, like 500 or 750. Then there's the which spell book this stuff goes under. (not getting into that ) But it's a factor. Then I can start seeing this suggestion not being OP.
