Who else? I would bet a meaningful amount of money that Veteran's Day isn't on the holiday schedule at Stardock.

Turn 1: Found city next to Fertile Land. Position so that any nearby resources will get inside border sooner rather than later. Turn 2: Hire Janusk and rename him Bob. Start Workshop build in your city (so that materials are produced ASAP). Turn 3: Buy a staff and then go exploring with Bob. Research Flame Dart as your first spell (build the Arcane Lab or whatever it's called as your third city building - Workshop, Hut, Arcane research thing).&n
I have said it before but will do so again. Any game with a "5" at the end of its name, should be "vastly" better (just because) than one that is yet to have even see it first Major (1.1) update, let alone a second iteration.
I've seen Brad apply that logic in a not-so-direct fashion in several of his posts, and I completely disagree. If you set out to create a game, it should stand on its own merits, reg

Seriously though, I moved up a difficulty level (to "Challenging") in conjunction with 1.09E, and I found the wandering monsters more challenging - as in I lost a couple undefended cities to brigands - never saw that before. The other AI sovereigns though... they are still kind of push-overs.
You can no longer stack multiple of the same item type (i.e. ring), but system would make more sense if you were limited to 2 rings and 1 necklace. Your Sovereign isn't Mr.T after all.
You forgot the Golden Rule: He who wears the gold, rules. Sucka.

I love this thing - never play a map without it. One question: Is it possible to add some way to save the default settings? I use the same settings almost every time, but they are about 5% below all the current defaults, and one map size larger. It would be nice to be able to save my preferred settings. Thanks again for this tool cephalo !

Fire spells should not harm fire elementals any more than swords against chainmail. I understand that attack and defense will be separated, but have heard nothing on the second. We suggest users put their mods in the my games folder, but it's up to the player I suppose. The starting side in a tactical battle is now chosen randomly. The attacker and the defender have an equal chance to go first. Well that's a step in the right direction! Should make tactical combat more interesting in the short-term at least. :)
