Playing Civilization V I’ve been playing a lot of Civilization 5 recently. I am enjoying it quite a bit and I really really wish the Civ and Elemental communities would cease sniping at each other. It may seem hard to understand this but Stardock and Firaxis are on the same side. We’re not competitors. We’re friends. I think I can safely say that we want Civilization V to succeed and Firaxis wants Elemental to succeed. What

I want this. Loot should be dropped and become a goody bag that others can pick up. If no one is there to retrieve it (monsters won a battle) then the loot should remain as a goody bag on the map that someone else (player or AI) can grab.

This is why cereal boxes always have the words "Serving suggestion" next to whatever image of the cereal they use to represent the product. You're not getting fruit and milk and a bowl and a spoon and orange juice and some athlete or anything else that's on the box; just cereal. Stardock should put those words on all their game boxes from now on: Serving suggestion. That way they can claim it's possible to recreate the image using the game, but the game won't necessari

The current maps aren't just "similar", they are identical with the exception of resource placement. The game is picking from a very small pool of pre-made maps based on the size you pick, and then placing the resources randomly. Some may call that a "random map", others may not.
Yeah, random maps are gonna be be Bread and Butter of Elemental. We dont have it perfect yet, but we think the resul

I agree 100%. I would rather have a small kingdom in a wild world (with other small kingdoms/empires out there as well) and build up adventuring groups to explore the wilds. Instead we get urban sprawl in the late game with hardly any room left for monsters to spawn. So if you figure out a way to mod this, please share it in the modding forum. :)
I don't want this sound bad, but how long will it be before the game is of the quality of galciv 2? I.e. where the game does not crash, does not suffer performance problems, where the AI is respectable, where the UI is usable, and when the game is more or less balanced? Thanks
When Elemental 2: Ultimate Edition comes out it should be there.

They would be a better option if you could arm and armor them. I don't mind auto-calcing the combat, but at least allow me to give them a fighting chance especially against weak creatures.
I add my vote to this. I also have another suggestions which I think may have been mentioned already. The equipping screens. I can't put my finger on it, but something just doesn't feel right about it. The items highlight in green to tell you they are in use. I think you definitely need set slots, as there is always a solid sense of satisfaction in placing the round peg in the round hole, and the square peg in the square hole, and hearing

You know, it doesn't have to be one or the other... you can actually play BOTH! The installations are NOT mutually exclusive. :P I'm playing Civ 5 for now only because Brad's release schedule promises a better Elemental in a couple months. Fine - then I'll wait a couple months and come back.

Quests. Hmm. 1. Quest Journal needs to be more interactive: you should be able to see current objective in the journal, and click on the description to see it on the map. You know - like a role-playing game. 2. Color of the quest location needs more differentiation to distinguish Quests from Gilden's cities/stuff. Right now it is easy to lose a quest location amidst Gilden's holdings.

Why are people so self-righteous about DLC? If that's a revenue stream that allows PC gaming to stay in business, I personally don't have a problem with it. Anything else in life that I want to upgrade requires additional funding; why not my computer games?
the CTDs seem to be related to special ability usage in battle. For instance an air elemental uses it's special ability in battle. I see the start of the animation (hand go up in the air) but then it CTDs right there on the spot before it finishes.
Only anecdotal (no log), but this happened to me as well. Only CTD I had today in about 6 hours of playing with the latest patch.

Not exactly on-topic, but did you notice that MP files and SP files have their own folder structure in the game directory? I'm hoping this means that SP won't get shafted with all the changes needed to make MP "balanced". So what's overpowered? For me, as a single-player only player, anything a human can easily exploit that the AI doesn't use at all. Good example: Organized trait. I can run all over the map with my sovereign-stack-of-doom taking cities an
We have the ability to "create" roads that the game places for us between two cities. We cannot "build" roads where we want them. Maybe the effects of Organized could be turned into a higher level spell which requires an enchantment slot?
