I have always thought that even though it is very inefficient to have half factories and half research because of the broken economy, that just means you have more money in your treasurey because you aren't producing as much. Also, even though very inefficient, half labs and half factories on your planets does make you more flexible. I have tried the all labs approach and it can be very difficult to get up and running since you can never be above 25% in production. I am somewhat interested in
Stanley Tarrant
Should the guidelines of 21% 41% and 100% approval still be followed in the latest version of DA?
A question to all you really good players with 50-100 metaverse wins. Do you always use either an all labs or all factory approach because of the way the game is economy works? Is it better to go all factories or all labs?
The thing is though in a high tech society, one year is a long time let alone thousands of years. To develop fusion, the Drengin scientists had to spend some time inventing and less time fighting, etc. Can we even begin to imagine thousands of years into the future for our own human race? Of course we always assume we won't be around in a thousand years....
Awwwwwwwww!!!! Squirrels with Plasma rifles!! How cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW... that is a lot of anomlies!!
Yeah, I guess it is possible. Still.... thousands of years is a really long time, and it took an innovative society to progress to fusion reactors...
This is something that never made much sense to me. If the humans developed the FTL drive, and the other races aquired it from them, why is it that all of the other races start off as 'unknown' to the terrans. I mean, they always start out first contact by thanking the humans for the FTL drive, but that seems to imply that they've already had contact. What's up with this? The way I figure, the Terrans should always start a game with at least one other race already discovered; the
There won't be any weapons that do multiple kinds of damage, that would kind of undermine the point of having multiple classes of attack and defense.
Terror Stars. You can blow up an entire system of planets regardless of defenses and number of ships. He who dies with the most toys...... still dies. The higest quality, most fully upgraded planet with massive defenses........ can still be tossed aside into the depths of space like a piece of garba
I love whats on the white board! lol! Man, I want to study that subject in school!!
And to the guy who responded to my bargin bin comment. I'm sorry, but galciv is a bargin bin game. Distributed by a no-name distrubutor (stardock, or os that the dev company). I didn't pay full game price for it. The collectors edition only cost me $30. Usually collectors editions go for more than base game prices. It get's no high profile attention. And yes, bargin bin games have expansions, look at the Battlecruiser series. Battlecruiser I view in much the same way I view GavCiv. AWESOM
As a matter of fact GalCiv has never been installed on my current computer. I bought this one last December. SE V, Moo3, and Civ4 (+2 expansions) are all currently on this hard drive.
So, let me get this straight..... You are judging a game harshly that you have never actually played yet just because it doesn't have multiplayer. Most cars can't also fly. Does that mean any car that doesn't also fly suck total A?? You have never met most of us yet you feel the need to
Lupus, please don't disrespect us because we play a game that apparently doesn't have multiplayer. Please. What did we ever do to you?
I agree that the economy needs to be overhauled. I think you should just have the master production slider from 0% to 100% and not differentiate between research and production. In other words, if you set the master slider to 100%, you get 100% of all potential research and potential production. This would make alot more sense, because you are still making tough choices as you use up precious planet tiles. Of course, I heard from one of the players who plays on suicidal or ma
Or are you just spraying shit all over and hoping it sticks?
Like the Imp (Warlock Pet) says in World of Warcraft... Was that reeeeeeeeeealy necessary?
Just turn tech trading off. Who really cares what the techs are? The only variables enterting into the AIs If-then statements will be ship values (offense and defense), planatary output, etc.
Why multiplayer in Galciv 2 wouldn't work! Hurry up and design your damn ship already!!!! Did you really have to waste my time trying to customize all the computer AI opponents before starting this game? Christ! Ahhhh no fair no fair!!!! Look at those better planets near you!!! CTRL-N!!! CTRL-N!!!! Man this is the 5th time you have demanded CTRL-N!!!
Also anybody who really digs Civ 4, keep in mind it's a much simpler game.
I would have to seriosuly dispute that. Civ 4 is different from galciv 2. They are both awesome and fun games. Galciv 2 has a lot more customization options with ship design and all. However, I think the economy is much more "efficient and smooth" and "makes a hell of alot more sense" than Civ4. Also, the resource system in Civ 4 is better than the starbase system on resources in galciv 2. Th
Civ 4 is garbage.
Jesus I almost had a heart attack when I read this heresy.
Shiva, lol. Yeah, sadly many in WoW are that way. The game is still awesome though and I just ignore everyone if they are bungholes. Believe it or not, there are decent folk in WoW who are more than happy to lend a helpful hand too.
And as some know, I was into multiplayer. I was the top ranked TA player on Boneyards for a full year (I was that "Frogboy"). So multiplayer isn't something I have anything against.
Outstanding!!!
You're all going to BURN IN FROGHELL.
JESUS! ANYTHING BUT FROGHELL!!
Humans made the breakthrough that allowed small-scale fusion to power warp tech on every ship.
But why wouldn't the other races make the breakthrough over thousands of years? To me, it is unrealistic. The only way I could understand is if the species had a severe religious or social taboo that prevented technological advancement in that way (kind of like a mild case of being amish). Perhaps maybe it was heresy to think that awesome fusion power could dare be miniturize
In all honesty, does anyone know how multiplayer is for Civ 4? It is God-aweful boring?? I think multiplayer may work ok, but you would have to have a turn timer, like only 5 minutes per turn like a timed chess match. During your turn, you can move ships, etc. And during your opponents' turns you can still view stuff give orders, etc. They just won't actually happen until it your turn. I mean is the multiplayer experience in civ 4 really awful?
I understand that tech, some humans are about as evil and insane as Korath, and some humans are practically (and some believe were without a doubt) saints comparable to heavenly angels. BTW, off topic, but how is it the humans developed hyper drive when the other civs had star gate technology for thousands of years? They were really that uncreative?? They didn't have the resources to make it happen?
