Come to think of it, maybe it's the fact that I leave my worlds unguarded that keeps the AI from sending their transports with fleets to my worlds. Maybe they don't see any need to send a fleet to a "defenseless" world, and therefore send their invasion force off there to get jacked by my roving defensive ships. Could it be that simple?
I think it is indeed that simple, because I almost never waste time leaving planets defended, and I find it very easy to pick o

Isn't the AI just a series of If-Then statements? Once you learn all of the exact If-then statements the AI is playing under, you can win!! Example: If human player is using transport unescorted then attack with nearest small frigate. If the AI always does this, then you can trick it by forcing the ship to come to your transport, then you can assualt the planet unimpeded. I know this is a gross over-simplification, but is AI just a whole crap load of If-Then statm

I know what David is talking about. It seemed like it was anomoly city for me to. That is one thing about the AI - it doesn't really seem like they care much about anomilies. They won't build extra survey ships for the sole purpose of increasing the anomlies they can grab.

Not a joke, nor sarcasm. Post was 100% serious. My original post was an attempt at Humor, which didn't go over too well, as I guess not many people are itimately familar with Saving Private Ryan. By all means, continue with your creation.

Sir, respectfully speaking so I don't get Frogged to Death (I do think Frogboy would make an excellent soldier - I can tell he is the kind of guy who doesn't take any shit from anyone, and is not afraid to be "politically incorrect" in this wussy age.), since the beta was set to come out today and Frogboy said it was finished for the most part, why can we not get a brief list of what it encompasses? Why the secrecy? Why the hype? This game doesn't need the hype or the secrecy, because this ga

FUBAR = ##$$##$ up Beyond all recognition. I believe the term was coined in WW2 when generals would make stupid mistakes. The reference is to the movie Saving Private Ryan. If you watch the movie, you will see what I mean.

Population growth rate to tax rate should scale evenly and not "step wise". I.E., your pop growth rate improves by 1% for every 1% lowered tax rate rather than forcing you to get to a magic tax rate to then get a sudden population growth bonus. When trying to double my pop growth rate, I find it rediculous that there is such a jump from 99% to 100% approval rate in terms of population growth. That is a humerous game inconsistency: That the 1% difference between 99% approval and 100

Since the beta is pretty much done, can we get a brief list of what it encompasses? have ground combat animations been updated for this first beta? Is this first beta essentially just the 3 tech trees and the new planet improvements that go with the new techs and nothing else? Are there new ship components comming with the 3 new tech trees? Terror stars?

How do you attain this status?

I just hit skip so I don't have to watch it lol. I mean there is no variety at all. Just an once of variety, i.e. seeing your steller troopers in power armor or whatever as an indication you have that tech or seeing green beams firing because you have plasma tech would go a long way in making ground combat fun to watch. Ship combat is hundreds of times better to watch you see your creation firing the specific weapon.

Man, humans weren't meant to have this much fun...... AWESOME!!!! Will the planatary ground combat animation be updated at all for the beta? Is the beta just the new tech trees for the 3 races and nothing else, i.e. no editors, terror stars, etc. etc.
Some people like more substantial challenges.
A lot that I have heard suggests the game is more difficult on smaller galaxies rather than larger galaxies. I believe I heard from Frogboy himself that more processing power is used on larger galaxies, so less goes into the AIs "decision making"- if you can call it that. Besides, on medium galaxies, the end game still takes hours and hours if you are trying to conquer the galaxy.
I've saw a thing on the discovery channel about Antimatter. I've been researching it and it makes an incredibly powerful weapon. Modern day nuclear weapons only release about 7% on an atoms energy. Guess how much energy would be released in an antimatter weapon? 100%. With that kind of weaponary, who needs the death star?(I mean terror star). Just send a few micro-warheads of antimatter at an enemy planet and watch the fireworks begin.
Nothing is 100%. There are always i
