Spoken like a kzinrret! Cat got your tougue?

I decided to play the game rather than mess around with graphics tonight, but I found a cool image of a device that reminded me of a starport, so I had to try it out. It's supposed to look like a tower rising out of a pit, but I'm not sure how well it works. I'm also experimenting with Factory 3; it was too light-colored and the green glass didn't look so hot with the green glow, so I modified it a bit. Here's my latest screenshot of Corinth I: <img src="http://img237.imageshack.us/img2
I had an unusual amount of downtime today, so I spent it making some more evil buildings. Here's my first pass at the factory line of buildings - in the order I made them, not necessarily in tech tree order: I like the sickly green glow; it makes it look like irreparable ecological damage is being spread by the mere presence of the building. I do like red better for a factory color, however, so I replaced the ea
I had a go at creating one improvement to see how it would look. I'm no good at making 3-D looking objects from scratch, so I found some good pictures of motorcycle engine parts and decided to make a factory icon out of one of them. Here's what I ended up with: Each icon has a corresponding query graphic that shows up in the bottom corner when you select the building, so I made one of those using a col
Why don't we approach Macmatt? For mods, one thing I would like to do is design a completely new set of images for the planetary improvements. I'm envisioning an evil-looking set of buildings; lots of dark, rusty metal with spikes and/or Giger-esque textures, and evil-colored light glowing through the windows. You can switch out the improvement graphics and still play on the Metaverse, so it would be something everyone could use. I got completely sick of some of the original im
We could make Evil mods. Spore. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfrakker in the galaxy. Accept no substitutes.
You will have a better learning experience with the original DL. It's easier to manage your economy (tbh, you barely have an economy at all in the expansion) and you can get a handle on the whole colonization and buildup portion of the game more quickly without worrying about the extreme planets, which the AI always seems to grab first. Also, diplomacy and tech trading are much kinder and more useful to the player in the original. I would suggest at the very least playing DL until you f
There have been many posts about this topic; try searching for 'memory leak'. Some people have done an amazing amount of research about this. One of them mentioned turning off Enhanced Ship Rendering in the options screen. I tried it, and my game crashes much less frequently now.
People, please, let this thread die its natural death. It had been quiet for seventeen days before being brought back yesterday. Ten pages of off-topic ranting is enough for any topic. Furthermore, I don't think the OP even owns the game, or plays it if he does. Search for all posts by him sometime, you will see what I mean.
A real time clock would be a fantastic addition to the game. It would finally bring an end to my getting up out of the chair with one leg asleep, going into the kitchen, and seeing that it is almost 2am. Another nice addition to put right beside that would be another clock that tells you how long your session has been... <a href="http://www.thegalacticcore.com/forum/index.php?showfo
The wife has been giving me "the look" on and off. Wait, do you mean "the look" or "The Look"? 'Cause if it's "the look", then rrrrrowrrr! But if it's "The Look", then, man, you may have to give up the game for a while... </a
I dunno - it might lead to much con fusion ...
Stupidest thing the AI does? They try to beat me!!! Muahahahahahaha! Other than that foolish disconnect from reality, I have seen the AI start wars many times and do absolutely nothing for months. Even when declaring war on a minor, the AI will sometimes take more than a year to just line up a small warfleet to take out the defenders and pull in a few transports to take over the planet
it was a poor attempt at a little humour Don't worry, PJ, that's just what we have all come to expect
If you win, Motti, what are you going to do? Administer incorporeal punishment ? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Question: If you're not part of the physical realm, I guess you can't exactly be the embodiment of Evil, can you? Answer: Of corpse not!!! I haven't made any bad jokes at work yet today, so you lucky lot get it instead. You're not lucky
Ha they probably cant find it. Dude, if you're stuck at 11 years (as you point out in the Team D thread), I doubt you could find your own ass with both hands and a map!
Reminder to TGE and ghostwes, please stop by our forum at the Core ( League forums ); in the briefing room thread, please let me know your preferences for future rounds of tournament play.
This request has actually been made before, I'm sure a lot of folks remember the times. See my forum avatar - it really is in my nature. Partly, I wanted to see if I was really in the minority in being disgusted by the digital vomitus that has been spewed on this forum for the past few months. My real, hidden agenda for this post was to raise awareness amo
I think people are still posting games, but it seems that many players have given up on this forum altogether. I think a lot of that has to do with the prevalence of the type of post I mention here: Request: Please remove off-topic categories from recent posts list . I don't think it helps that the Emperor is MIA, either. <img src="http://img522.image
It would be nice to see something like that once per game, like the 'first starbase' vid, but honestly, I would be awfully tired of it by the time I had spored fifty planets. Spore. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfrakker in the
It's almost as cool as the Blade Runners' banner Good thing they didn't notice the subliminal "We're #2"! Just kidding, I wouldn't really do that. Though I did think about it for just a second. A second split more finely than an off-topic poster's infinitives. My two evil characters exchanged a knowing glance. Soon, that glance said; soon... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
A bunch of Canadians? Awesome where do I sign up? I doubt you sign anything; more likely it's something to do with a keg of Molson, a snowmobile, and a moose...
I think you mean something like "forum area" and not "thread." That is what I mean, thank you. I guess threads are looming large in my head and I was just a-skein for it "Subforums" is probably the technical term I was looking for. it might work best as an opt-out system so new folks don't throw a baby they might love out with t
The Galactic Core hosts sites for several other empires. Secret ones, even. I bet Mumble would help us get one set up, or could at least point us to the right person for the job. Darth, there are bazilions of tutorials out there for Photoshop. Just Google something like "photoshop tutorial" plus whatever you want to create. Generic type stuff like "buttons" will give plenty of tutorials for new users. Paintshop is just about as good for creating Web illustrations - and it's much cheaper
Glad I could be of assistance. I'm sorry, pndrev, I didn't mean to single you out - when I saw your post right above this one, I made the assumption that you posted it in response. If you didn't, please accept my apology! I like your idea of being able to subscribe to the threads you want to read. It's much better than just removing some types of threads from the recent posts list. I wonder how hard that would be to implement? Like a set of pref
