WOW! Can't wait to watch this one. Just have to finish a Civ5 MP-game here. :)
Almost no one playing Might and Magic Heroes VI. Oh how the Mighty and Magicky have fallen.
Yeah, after the last good one, and my favorite number 4, it has been a disaster. Also I have become older of course, and the HoMM-series just not isn't enough anymore to satisfy my hunger for grander strategy. :D
I've been
I bought but didn't like AoW3. Too tactical oriented and too little strategy oriented for my taste. My favorite is by far Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes. I have also pre-ordered 2 other fantasy strategies. I have big hopes for Worlds of Magic and Endless Legend. I don't count the Civilization -and Galactic Civilizations series as fantasy (but understand they arguably are). If I did count them in they
Nice looking! Can't wait to start building and destroying them.
Yeah, you might have to defend those. Interesting indeed.
Yeah, it's undoubtably for the best. Good decission.
Love you Stardockians for focusing on the AI!
I can't say how much I hate the Windows 8, and how its UI has ruined the charm of the PC. Thankfully Stardock has some good programs I can use to fix that problem if I some day should be forced to use this new Windows crap.
For me this is some of the charm when playing a strategy game for the first time. You can't expect to do all tech choices, or other choices, perfectly compared to your playstyle from day 1. Too many pop-ups and helping screens can clutter up the interface too you know. But in time you learn and suddenly a day the AI isn't so hard to beat anymore. That is the sad day, not your first day when you are a rookie. :) NB! Your taste of games is excellent, my dear Threa
My list: - Buildings built on map with no other gameplay purpose then "cheesy" city snaking for ressource grab or fast influence steering in one direction only(I'd prefer 1 tile per city, or a maximum of 4 tiles a city, then building real influence buildings would really mather too, and connecting Your empire could potentially be a long and painfull process). - No penalties for obstacles or range on bows in tactical combat. - No ships, nava
For me, and I'm obviously biased, I really really REALLY don't like lengthy tactical battles. Whereas, I think most gamers prefer in depth tactical battles. If a tactical battle takes more than a couple minutes, I'm unhappy.
Agree totally indeed! I Guess that is a part of why I got bored by AoW3 after just 30 min. So little strategical depth it seemed, even though battles seemed well
Cool! Too sad I am occupied with family dinner while the stream goes. Hopefully I'll be able to watch a replay later.
I really need this patch. :) I can't play AoW3 anymore, so childish compared to this game. Was bored after 30 min. actually.... :D
Ok, on the second topic: One thing I'd like to see is the choices also lead to a chance of random events based on what you pick, in a way very similar to EU4 (A game I know is one of Brad's favorites) GalCiv has always been rife for some EU-style events Example: you pick a policy that makes you militarily aggressive, you might get an event that req
So.... after a lot of hours burned on AoW3. Positives against FE/LH 1.) Hero's levelup is almost as bad as original Elemental's. Way too simple. Only thing that makes levelup meaningful is that unlike Elemental series, the game is well-balanced and still can make specialized heroes if you choose traits carefully. The hero's high initial hp also makes him/her not as utterly as useless as FE
Never mind, it was only £30, and I think you can get a refund from GOG, if I wanted one that is. It has done one thing good that is worth mentioning. It has made me appreciate LH much more.
I have to agree with you Tatty. LH is alot better if you are like the two of us, prefering strategy over tactics. That said, AoW3 is a good game and alot deeper then games like
Just woke up. Had to sleep my way through all the waiting earlier today. Now it's time to start "working" with the alpha. Downloading now.
Time to wake up NorsemanViking...
Thanks for waking me up. :) Running to my gamer pc now.
Quoting NorsemanViking, reply 56 Hmmm, should I rather go to get some sleep for 2 hours, come back and play the whole night? Probably a good idea...I'm sure that the release won't be for another hour at least.
I'll take your word on it. Off to bed for some forced sleep.
Hmmm, should I rather go to get some sleep for 2 hours, come back and play the whole night?
Yeah, the Frog can be like that sometimes, a real tease. :)
So have people already received the keys? I have not gotten mine so I was curious.
Login here to get them. But they are not active yet: https://www.stardock.com/games/?from=nav
I'm worried I'll be out of cigarettes soon. This wait is making me light up new ones before the previous one is even smoked out.....
Steam updates their pages/servers at 1:00pm UTC-4. So probably nothing will happen before then.
When is that in realtime?
