I think the biggest surprise will be the multiplayer. The nature of GalCiv (on tiny maps in 1 v 1 games) works out remarkably well.
Just as I have foreseen. I also foresee multiplayer FFA megagames will be even better (for people like me at least). :D Everything is proceeding as I have forseen....Muahahahahaha.
Quoting Chibiabos, reply 135 Since snaking to forests to build a logging camp or rivers for a dock is no longer allowed, the only purpose of snaking at all anymore is to put nearby resources in range of your city, and that's kinda weak tea considering your borders will expand anyway, so makes sense to give up on snaking altogether. I disagree. I have always found the snaking cities useful for t

1 tile cities will be a huge improvement. No more totally brainless cheesy and unestethical gameplay of city snaking, city blubbs filling the map and God knows what. Please say we will have workers as well, and this is pure fantastic for the strategical empire building element. What I'm more worried about is being too powerfull in the start of the game. I don't like being too powerfull in the mid or end game even, so I'm not sure of what to think of this. When I

A.I takeover or maybe ur faction becomes untouchable untill you come back? Maybe like a persistant game, I don't know has stardock hinted yet how they are going to do it? Can't remember where, but I'm rather certain. I'd also prefer 1vs1vs1vs1. Teams are for cowards. :D Abundant ressources and anamolies sounds boring and unchallenging. :) I vote normal or scarce. NB! I think medium map will be OK for 4 player, and start up game. But all should have 6-8 hours at least, so we can have some fun. Perhaps 2x6h sessions Friday and Saturday after the 27th, at a set hour?
I'm still waiting to see if SD will sort out how city defenders are managed when multiple armies attack a city during the same turn. At the very least, surving defenders should carry over to the next battle during the same turn. Currently, the defenders just cease to be after the first battle. To be clear I'm referring to inherent city defenders, not stationed units.
I think it i

I'd love to see buildings that are supposed to give +1 sphere of influence work. As of now I can only see the Monument and City Hall work as intended here, and not buildings like for instance the Palace. This is especially important for us that think playing with human placed buildings and snaky cities are exploitive, boring and gamey.
In the case I'm thinking of, the player is up against a Mithrilar that using a mortal avatar. The main point being is that I'd like to dispense with the wimpy (oh look, I can now have a club) beginnings and start players out much more powerful. Elemental has all kinds of powerful spells in it, volcanos, meteror storms, tidal waves, but few people ever see it and we had to totally nerf other easier things becaus

I also did lose some sleep over Alpha Centauri series. If 5 We're Seven they would be on the list.
Ah, Call to Power. If only Brad could take up that concept, making a competing Civilization TBS 4X.

The screenshots are probably from the new 4X fantasy. The art style looks different, but still just great (love it). I'm so glad they still choose this cosy fantasy style instead of the terribly uncharming, vulgar and excessive style we see in all too many fantasy games nowadays. This indeed smells of grand atmosphere and epic adventure, gentlemen.

I like smaller DLC's coming rather frequently too, but what I'd really like is a great new Expansion Pack adding naval exploration, naval monsters, naval quests, naval hero traits, naval tech, naval buildings, ships, naval warfare and a new naval based faction. This is what we miss to make the game perfect instead of just great. :D Other then that: - I'd like to see a siege system as well, that could slow down enemy captur
It seems the culture of gamers has changed. People don't like challenge. They like progression. They enjoy repetitive, mindless tasks that give the illusion of getting better without actually getting better at the game. In age of wonders 3, for example, it was suggested that in order for AI to be acceptable, it only needs to "present a credible threat". That is setting the bar pretty low, as I would only
