You can turn it off in the Main Menu Interface screen for ships moving on auto pilot. A lot of games do this jumping around, for example Civ3. But hey, if they can make it an option that would be ok - That way the player can choose. BTW, You can always use the Tab key to cycle manually through your ships too.

Important Note!!!!! (Can't edit my post - they have removed that feature for some reason.) This method only works with version 1.1 and above. 1.0 used uneditable (by the user) shipclass files. Also with 1.1 Beta version 3, ships will auto-obsolete, making this method difficult. This has been fixed in 1.1 Beta version 3A realeased tonight. I just verified it.

@harperBrad You can do the same thing with Medium, Large and Huge designs. Check out my Terran Ship Pack download in the Library here. You have to first open the game in Cheat mode. Enter in the Windows Start/Run line the following command, substituting your path to the Galciv2.exe. G:\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\GalCiv2.exe cheat Once in Cheat mode, start a game as the player you want to make models fo

Great Job! Thanks for fixing the Auto-Update of ships - this was a big issue for me as I make lots of ships from one type! Just tried it out and it works fine! On upgrading Core ships, the existing parts will remain if you uncheck the option to remove them in the Main Menu Interface Section - cool! . But you cannot remove the old parts by clicking on them on the ship model itself in the window and clicking the Remove button in the S

Sorry if this is a double post. I just posted a thread 20 minutes or so ago about how the edit function has disappeared in the forums. And that there are a LOT of SQL errors today. It did not appear inthe forums or in my posts. Besides that, When I reply to a thread, instead of taking me to the new post, the forum displays a blank screen with just the header, starry background and boxes to the left. When I go bac

You don't need to choose the first one - but you do have to change the server to a new one for the new data to appear. Picking any server will do as long as it is not the one you started with. This is in SDC, Tools/Settings/Internet.

To meeth the MS recommendations for software, it stores files in two places, the main game folder where you install it, and in your \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 folder. I keep My docs on a second drive - you cna probably change this to meet your requirements but be aware that if your My Docs folder is on the first drive it will store sav gaems, ships and custom mod files there. Not a lot of space used though - I am using around 40MB in

Influence starbases in empty space are useful in getting influence victories when you need to get 75% of the map on large er maps sizes where ther is a lot of empty space. They do only mostly affect the are of their radius. There may be some small global affect though.

It was deliberate to prevent exploits of constantly reloading to get a better outcome in metaverse. Whether you want to take advantyage of it is your decision. After all, it's a single player game and you determine your own cheese level.

Also want to add that if you want ships from other games, the simplest way is once you get base designs without tech requirements you want to use (make sure they have no components equipted) is to put them in your \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships folder. I make a copy of the folder with just base ship designs and keep it in another place. After I finish every game I backup the existing ship folder to a zip archive with the name of
